Cat and Roxy NOT burned alive in hotel fire.......

****** NEWS FLASH ********
10 PM EST, 1/27/04
Marriot Hotel in Stamford, CT ablaze.
Cat and Roxy escaped from the 5th floor alive and well, although they smell a little "Hickory Smoked." Roxy's truck is across the street from them, parked in a Fire Lane, as directed by the hotel management because it's Too Damned Big to fit in their garage. Wrotten luck, tho......the keys are still in the room.......along with all the NECH notes, info, Trex, and clothes. Oh........BTW.......they're in their pajamas.
They're across the street from the hotel.......alive, well, and giggling like two school girls. The snowstorm isn't supposed to hit until tomorrow morning. As they watch their belongings go up in flames, and the smoke billows from their previous hostelry, they are really upset that their evacuation location happens to be in a non-smoking office.

Well, we made it back to the room. We smell like  , they opened the bar....so, that's where we went. Drinks were not on the house......  . Only four injuries that went out on stretchers.
Kev, thanks for the offer, and we would have driven over, but my truck was surrounded by emergency vehicles.
You always wonder what you would grab in case of fire....LOL.....I grabbed trex and smokes.....  , to hell with laptops and cell phones.
All I can say is it's bloody cold up here....blizzard is raging away. Cat says it's just my damn thin Texas blood. Life is never boring......

No folks, there's no joke at all. Well it's funny in retrospect, but when the smoke alarms go off in a hotel, and you open the door to see what's going on, and open the door to a hallway filled with smoke ya pretty much shit yer pants.
We left immediately and had to cover our faces to get down the stairwell. The fire was in the laundry room apparently, and they got it contained and cleared the hotel of smoke and all is safe and well.
I tell ya...it gets more and more interesting every damn day! LOL.

Glad to hear you're ok. I know you were having a fit. (Got stuck in Toronto one time on the 35th floor - that was a "fun" flight going down the stairs - people were so "rude" trying to save their butts!)
And what's wrong with saving the smokes and trex? Seems like a logical choice to me.

As I sit here trying to post a picture the !$^&&^%@$% Fire Alarms went off again.... my heart can't take this shit!!!! False alarm, they had to reset the fire alarms I guess...UGH.
This is the firetrucks and EMS at the front...in between the ambulances you can Tracey's truck that was in the fire lane because that's where the hotel told us to park it on account of it wouldn't fit in the parking garage. As you can see...there was no way to move it out even if she had actually grabbed the keys and not left them to melt in the room LOL.
This is another pic of Tracey's truck behind the EMS...and you'll note the @$^#&@$%$ snow coming down as we all stand outside freezing wondering how badly this damn place was gonna burn.
All is well, only 4 had to be taken away for smoke inhalation and a few were treated here on site for smoke. Tracey and I both had eyes, throats and lungs stinging from the smoke on the way down, but didn't bother to get the peepers flushed.
What an exciting trip...in more ways than one!
