My dog Alba (4 years old)  . I have 4 dogs but I am sure I will miss her terribly… Alba was a wonderful and affectionate Rottweiler girl who loved to kiss your hands and face! I have a “bond” with my animals and it is inexplicable, they are unconditional in their love, and seem to sense when I need them the most. And the hurt is deep when you lose one. And last year I lost also my horse.  So sad....

I know exactly the connection you have with your pets...I love my dogs like they are my children, I would just be heart broken if I were to lose one...I am so sorry to hear you lost your friend.

Yes, they are just an animal, but the connection goes so much deeper than that. They are family.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

My dog, Sasha, died 2 years ago, and I had to explain death to my (then) 4 year old son. "Doggies go to heaven, to run and jump and wait for us to live the rest of our lives...."
A year ago, the baby tree in our back yard died due to a lawn mower incident, and my son asked if trees go to heaven too. "Umm, yes?!?" (Well, that's what I told him) So, I pulled the baby tree up, roots and all, and threw it over my back fence, and then I put the tree out of my mind.
My back fence butts up to the woods, and makes a good natural trash-bin.....
Later that day, I caught my son building a contraption of boxes and toys, to climb that fence and peek over....
When I saw my son, I yelled at him. He said he just wanted to look at heaven and see if he could see Sasha...
My son deduced that heaven was behind our fence, and he still missed his dog.....
We never forget our dogs!!!

Zaira, I am so sorry your friend is gone. I too know the depth that our hearts can go for our furry friends. My girl is 15 1/2, and I have been dreading the day for years. Thankfully, she is still by my side. Big hug to you. Remember you gave Alba a great home and lots of love for the time she had on this earth.
JDH, you made me cry. That was so special. You have no idea. I will be printing it. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

Thank you... for listening and understanding, you made me cry, especially JHD's words....... Just a 2 months ago, when I was in hospital, she rejected food as she couldn't see me anymore. We understood that this was the reason why when I came back home, she unexpectedly started to eat again..... I'll miss her very much and her death has left a great void that I'll try to fill with my others dogs...
This is the rest of our Rottweiler's family.
Serena is the beautiful 2 months old daughter of Alba.

I feel your sorrow and loss. We lost our dear friend of 13 yrs just 2 weeks prior to losing my dad to esophigeal cancer.
It tears at the heart strings I know. But take solice in the words that JDH so appropriatly provided.

Sorry about you losing a companion. My dog stays right by my side whenever the Beast shows up. She knows how bad i'm hurting. I'm sure your dog will be missed.

I feel your pain. My 2 young dogs are lying right beside me, licking my hand when I put it down.
I lost my 15 year old little boy 2 years ago and I could barely breathe through the tears when I had him put down. That's the one issue I will chat with God about someday. How can something so precious have such a short life?
What a sad, sad day for you. I hope you can remember the great times you had with your baby...

They take a lot of crap from us sometimes and give us everything.
