UPDATE: shadows, stronger shadows..what's next?

hey ch family, I have had shadows ALL darn day with a droopy eye and abnormally worse blurred vision in left eye. This started very early this a.m., about 5 am and is still going on at 1015 pm? Everytime I get to the point of reaching for the o2 the shadow seems to ease up some. I'm just afraid the demon is knocking, then knocking harder and very soon he will knock the door down and kick my ass! Have any of you had these symptoms? Am I headed for a big time fight? Anxious and blurry renee

Think positive Renee. It sounds like the beast is losing his grip on you. As if he is trying to hit you but he's tired of getting his ass kicked by O2. -Fu

Fu, I sure hope so but I've never gone this long with such heavy shadows and droopy eye. And my vision in left eye....worst ever! I'm just very nervous that a big kipper is knocking. I think i will go nail the door shut and refuse any visitors!! I hope he doesn't break out a window to get in! I'll have to sleep with my 9mm...well, maybe not a good idea under these circumstances.... wish me luck pain free night to all renee

Renee, What I tend to do in this circumstance is get prepared for a big battle. When I feel that I am strapped in for the ride I down a shot or two of bourbon. This will either piss the shadows off or the beast will visit. This is pretty drastic, however I find that sometimes the continual shadows are more exhausting a suffering a kip 8 or so attack. Wishing you all the best. My thoughts are with you!! Turts

Renee, Are you episodic ? I just finished up an 18 week cycle this month. The last 2 weeks where constant shadows that increased & decreased throughout each day and where always linguring. The good news was the Beast only showed up a few times in that 2 week period. My cycle finally ended with no more shadows about a week ago. Maybe that's a sign that yours will be ending also. Sending PF vibes in hopes the Beast has found the door.

Stay alert, could be the downside of this cycle. I have different meds and sometimes hammer it away with a large dose. You may have it on the ropes. Sometimes at that point in the cycle I've gone to an off the shelf med like Excedrin Migraine, which may soothe a shadow, saving my meds for the big one, when it comes. The caffeine it contains may help. Those constant shadows can keep one edgy waiting for the big one, I try to kick the shadow's ass too, though shadows are much better than what I was experiencing. At that point, I know I've got it on the run and get eager to kick it's ass out so it can't gain momemtum again. Again, it may be losing strength, feel good about that. Good vibes to you. Kevin M

I never have a warning before the cycle kicks in, it just does. I hope you are not getting ready for the hits, but if you are we are here.

I am sorry Renee, you feel you are about to get into a cycle, these shadows are not at the end. I took it wrong. That is different. Sorry to hear that. While near the end of a cycle, I can never remember how it starts, but that sounds like a warning. Hope things don't develop for you and we'll be here. Kevin M

I've only had shadows this last bout (about 3-4 months), and even then when they began to lose their grip. I hope this translates and you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE BEAST!

Renee, Sounds like things could go either way for ya, here's to hoping this is the beginning of the end for a while. Regardless, keep the meds handy and keep on keepin on. Agonizing over it too much is bound to eventually trigger a major one, the stress thing ya know. Vibin! Ramon

Renee. Blake has handled shadows by taking Excedrine Migraine, drinking strong hot coffee with it and then getting on the air. Might be worth a try..... Good Luck, Sweetie.... Jacks

Renee I believe that I'm at the end of a 3 1/2 month battle and the shadows have been going on for a week or so. This is the norm for me at the end of a cycle and I pray that it is the end of the cycle for you to. A great point has been made about using strong over the counter meds for these instead of the expensive the docs prescribe. Take care! Belle

Renee, I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I am very well aquanted with shadows that don't go away.I'm on Verapamil every day and although I'm diagnosed as eposodic my shadows have been present since my last attack back during the hurricane. I'm afraid to stop the Verapamil because it seems that damn monster is trying to pry itself in. I know how you feel. On a positive note the shadows are not nearly as intense as they were 6-8 weeks ago. If this is what's happening to you, hang in there,it'll get better. I know it will. ... ...Mark..

Gang, First of all, I'm chronic and have been fighting the beast since October. The strong shadows that I had ALL DARN DAY yesterday ended in a night full of good sleep and I've had my first FULL pf day in months, TODAY!! Quite possibly, as many mentioned, the demon is finally losing his battle. On one more note, I have a past history of very long cycles during the same Nov. to late winter/early spring. Maybe this year my winter cycle is ending earlier than past years! Don't fret! The 9mm was for the beast, not for me! I even cried tonight when reading the rainbow bridge and that didn't even bring on the beast. I enjoyed the day and hope for many more and I got lots of work done and then went and played bingo and even won $100.00 Thanks for your input, my ch family and I hope all of you get a pf day like what I've had today...it is wonderful! love and pfdan renee

RIGHT ON!!! I just had a feeling... Sometimes 'different' patterns can be a good sign. There's no reason to always assume the worst. In fact, I think that helps the beast along. May this be the start of many PF days. -Fu

I agree, I go to bed each night with the anticipation that I won't wake up running for the door to the outside cold or to the syringe I prepare before I close my eyes. It seems these days that the "little bitch" hides until I close my eyes to come out and play. I would have to say from experience that it seems you got him/her on the run. Chase that little fiend down and beat the hell out of it!
