Before you dismiss this as just more floccinaucinihilipilification from Hirvimaki (No apologies, Fric!), I just wanted to wish you all:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Despite an intense attack by the Evil Clown, I had a wonderful time last night at a compotation with wife and friends.  The party was lively and there were many callimammapygian beauties around.  It was certainly a splendid way to spend the end of a year.  I wish you all could have been with us!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve.

The clepsammia runs low, away to bed again I go!

Beauxesprits, Ave! Smiley

The women were many and were callipygian, not steatopygic.  And yes, they certainly were nutrians - both the small and large variety.

Although the clock uses sand, not water, it does the same thing.

Hugs and frottage,

I may be a lexiconophilist, but it is not so confusing as if I were an entredentolignumologist.  Why all the confusion?

A warning to the philosophunculists out there: We will unabashedly call you the limicolous, pettitoed, flagitigous, pilgarlican harridan that you are!  (There is not a snarge among us...)

The plagent and stentorian bustle of my guests awakening calls me away.  (No clocks involved this time.)

Thanks for the giggles, people!  You've made this new year the best one yet...

I've been staying away from this thread because 1. those words are scary and intimidating and 2. my websters dictionary is on a vacation after I violated it's pages. Lips Sealed  Why am I posting?  I dunno... guess I just ache to be in with the big talkers, i mean philosophers, er linguine, i mean, linguistic (is that a word?) crowd.

Not sure I want to ask, but couriousity gets the better of me....

I believe the mystification is due to the employment of copious terminology.  The yearning to expound a narrative with folly and levity allows for the multitude to adjudicate for them selves what is being discussed.

And yet there ya go! Smiley

It is comforting, in no small way, to know that I am surrounded (cyber-surrounded?) by folks both erudite and jocular.

To all who have posted thus far, I have this to impart:

Omnis oratio moribus consonet.

I trust those who know that if you have more than one octopus, you do not have octopi (Despite what Webster* has to say about it.) will understand.

For those who think the words sesquipedalian and the intent merely the posturing of aristophren, I might remind you that African Bushmen and Amazonian Indians speak languages of a grammatical complexity that would make most Anglophones faint.  I make no apologies...

Hirvimaki

Yes, I am fully aware that this thread is a lucubration.  That's the point.

*It is an interesting fact (at least to lexiconophilists) that "Webster's" is not copyrighted, so any company may publish under this name.
