Check carefully - all the cards change, but you are probably only remembering the one you picked. That's the way it worked for me anyway.

It was an easy riddle, indeed.
And try Simeon's Gemstone Game, after a while I figured out that you always win if you start the game yourself - you only have to start taking 2 stones, then your counterpart can't win anymore. Supposed he's doing his best, i.e. making no mistakes, you only have to take: 2-1-3-3-3-3 and he's done.
