Clusterheadaches...not sure

Hi all- I have been dealing with a headache for about a week now. I have no hx of chronic headaches or migranes in the past and this does not feel like any headache that I have had ever before. Please, If I could list some of the symptoms could you tell me if this is some form of clusters or does it sound like something else? Oh, by the way, I did go to the Dr. and she said that it sounds like clusters...hence why Im on this message board. Does not wake me from my sleep. Has become constant over the last week. (Except when I sleep) Centered over the right, top of my head. Started out like ice-pick headaches, but now just pressure and pain. No pain in my face or eye. Slight pain in my right ear. Does not come in cycles, as I said contstant pain at about a 4 out of 10 (pain scale) No drooping eyelid or change is pupils. No nausea or vomitting. Light does not affect it. I am female. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I really dont think that clusters fit my situation but I would like to find out. I have not had any CT or MRI as of yet. That may be the next thing if these headaches do not go away. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Emmer, Try taking the "Cluster Quiz" and see how you're answers correlate. It's pretty much right on the money with my cluster symptons. Regards, Bob

Hi - it doesn't sound like typical CH to me. There are "ice pick" headaches. I just don't know much about them. Keep seeing your dr until you get a definative diagnosis. Sorry I can't offer more help...

Try the quiz. Doesn't sound like a CH to me. Could be sinus or, as strange as this may sound, a dental/tooth problem. Finding the source of pain is sort of like chasing a roof leak - the leak's not always located where the water's coming into the house...

Does not sound like clusters to me (or ice pick headaches). BTW..."Ice pick headaches" is the same as "Cluster Tic Syndrome". Unsolved

| Boy do those suck too!! You'd honestly be wishing for death...... I just wish you the best in you quest for relief of whatever it turns out to be. I hope it's not CH but if it turns out to be get ready and research! Goodluck regardless! E
