Weird Question for Vietnam Vets

How many of you guys are vets of the Vietnam War? I know its weird to ask, but my father did 2 tours, Special Forces, Green Beret. He came back ok physically, but after awhile started to get sick. He just got sicker. He wound up with headaches, rashes, pain, and other weird neuro stuff. I now get CH, rashes, and have terrible joint pain and overall health is pretty poor. My mother and her mother both got migraines, but not CH. My father did get CH. I'm wondering if there is a correlation between Agent Orange and CH for some of us. Its been found that Agent Orange has caused immunodeficiancy issues in both vets and their children. It could perhaps be causing our HAs as well. Thanks for your time. *sorry for spelling errors I may have made* Here's hoping for a pain-free day Alice

There was a post about this very topic a few weeks ago. I am not sure in which forum, probably this one. The title of the thread was, I think, Agent Orange. Check back for a few weeks. Casey

Thanks, Casey. The search option doesn't work very well for me, so I'll check manually. Alice

Go to page 2 of this section and scroll down to the title ‘CH and combat’. That may be the string clarence is referring to. Quote:Its been found that Agent Orange has caused immunodeficiancy issues in both vets and their children. |
| Were you born before or after your father was exposed to Agent Orange? If there is a connection between clusters and Agent Orange I don’t know. I have never seen or heard of a connection, but then, there’s lots of things I’ve never seen or heard of. But I don’t know what they are.

I did 2 tours in Nam. 12 months with River Patrol Flotilla 5 in the Mekong Delta and a few months on a mine sweeper, USS Gallant, doing picket duty off the coast. I break out in a rash every time I see Kerry if that qualifies as a Viet Nam illness.

I did one tour in Vietnam (that was enough for me) with the 1/35 Infantry, 1967 - 1968. Served in Duc Pho, Tam Ky, Que Son Valley and the Central Highlands. The question of ch and Vietnam occured to me as well. Decided to do a little fishing around the 'ol VA and see what crops up. I'll keep the board in the loop. Alice, your Dad can be checked out by the VA for Dioxin exposure and perhaps treatment, if applicable. Generational linkage is possible, but difficult to prove. However the VA has accepted ten (I think) illnesses directly attributable to Dioxin (Agent Orange) that are compensable. Go to http://www.va.gov and in the search block (lower left hand side of your screen) type in Agent Orange and hit the search link. Lots of very good and current information here. Hope this helps! Phil

I don't think my tour in Nam has anything to do with CH.

My attacks started in Nam, The VA sent me a letter many years ago saying they linked all my health problems to Agent Orange exposure, not to the head trauma! Pappy Me thinks its a cop out and a general way to sluff off everything!
