I'm trying to figure out if Sinus problems develope during a Ch cycle that may be going untreated and therefore extending the cycle. Could it be that the "shadows" are sinus problems that need to be dealt with separetly?

Could it be that the "shadows" are sinus problems that need to be dealt with separetly? Shadows are cluster headaches, just low on the kip scale. Sinus infection is just that, sinus infection. They are 2 separate conditions and are treated separately and differently. |

Here's what happens to me and why I ask. After a bad hit the sinus cavity on the Ch side is aggravated and takes a long time to clear up. It still feels like I have a ha but way less painful and w/o the shooting pain in the roof of the mouth. Its like another hit is just around the corner. I guess this is whats described as a shadow? Enough people have been wrongly diagnosed with sinusitus or a deviated septum instead of CH it started to make me wonder if Ch starts a sinus irritation that aggravates the Ch and so on.

Roof of the mouth? I know it can be felt in the teeth/jaw on the cluster side but I've never heard of it in the roof of the mouthIts like another hit is just around the corner. Like I said above, I doubt it |

Karma, I'm no doctor but I have spent 5 years chasing a mis diagnosed sinus problem. I had windows cut into my sinus cavitys and the deviated septum surgery. I have been in cycle for 1 month and just had a MRI last week. I asked my doctor how my sinuses looked because I get congested on the right side daily. and he said they were clear. If you are wondering see a ENT (Ear Nose Throat) specialist. to rule it out. I have had sinus infections before but the pain is different for me. Sinus pressure bad enough to resemble CH caused my forhead and temple to feel brused to the touch even when the HA was gone. It also pulsed at max intensity. My CH pain is more constent like pinching your arm as hard as you can. No throbbing just constent pain that swells at times but does not seem to pulse like the sinus HA did. Like I said I'm no expert but this is what I've gone through. and I have to go see my Neuro in 15 mins. Good luck I hope you get releif soon.

hoosierdaddy, I know just what you been through. I Got hit on the way to an ENT's office. Yea the sinus was clear but it was so red and irritated that the ENT asked me if I was doing coke. I was speechless for the first time in my life. Bob, The shooting pain in the roof of the mouth is along with the tooth and jaw pain.

I have had sinus problems in the past. Most of the time they don't come with my cycles. Once in a while, yes but not all the time. I gave up on the sinus/CH connection long ago. Maybe you need more exercise? T

Karma, I went to my neuro and had 2 Occipital Nerve blocks and got a Trex injection kit. Pain free but felt like Duece Bigalow getting the shots in the head. I cracked a tooth playing basketball and got a crown from it. Iwas wondering does the pain from your mouth worsen with jarring, like jogging? I had a sensation of fluid moving when I would jog and eventually even to walk.

Tom, Exercise? Not a bad Idea Since I'm the boss I think I'll go fishing. The dolphin and yellowfin are damn near jumping in the boat. Lots of 2-300 pound marlin around to, those will give you a hell of a work out. Then I'll go home and work on the heavy bag for awhile. After that I'll lounge around the pool and watch the sun slip over the horizon. I'll finish of the day with some marinated sasimi and broiled dolphin and then slip into bed beside the wife for some incredible sex. All in the name of pain relief. hooseirdaddy, the only time I got the tooth pain like that was when I busted a tooth or had one abscessed. Jonny, thanks for the pic.
