New to the world of CH and this site. Recently diagnosed, MRI'd and on meds. Knowing your out there is truly helpful. Noticed a few combat vets on this board and wonder if there is a statistical abnormality at work here or am I looking down a straw.

There is a pretty good percentage of us that have ch that are also veterans, but I don't really know if there is much difference between that percentage and normal population.

It could be of interest to the veterean community at large and the Veterans Administration in particular. Perhaps a study such as this would benefit other veterans. Any thoughts?

Sorry you had a reason to come looking for this place, but welcome aboard. To answer your question, I think you/re looking down a straw.

Your probably right. Just trying to make sense of it all. Have a very good friend who taught me not to look too hard for the reason things happen......because it's generaly "just because". Think I'll leave it at that.....

There is a clusterhead Roger here in Vegas that has some physical problems caused by agent orange. Whether it is connected to his clusters I can't say.

I got to tell ya guys, I've had my share of pain etc, but CH is really kicking my butt - never had anything quite like it, even cried a few times, and tough 'ol birds "ain't" supposed to do that. Without overstating the obvious how the hell do you cope? Can easily (with a few phone calls) see if the VA has any studies - I've decided not to invest alot of energy into this, but if there is enough interest - can do. Let me know.

Its not about toughness, its about heart....30 years chronic and ive had the heart to keep on plugging away at life.....I sometimes cry from the pain, but I am a fucking warrior!.....because I dont give up. ..........................................jonny

I dont think the VA cares about much. Im a vet also . The only thing the I take from the military that helps my CH is If you think it is as bad as it gets get ready it can get worse!!! So when I think as Im crying that it cant hurt anymore I know it could be worse and Im ready. BB

John, If you haven't been to a VA facility in a while you might be surprised as to the significant improvements. I receive all my medical care at the La Jolla, CA VAMC and have few complaints. You might want to try again. They have a veterans hot line at (800) 827.1000 where you can get information regarding benefits, etc. And who knows, you may be entitled to benefits you were not aware of. If you'll excuse the pun - it's worth a shot.......... Phil
