did I tempt fate?

I've been pretty much pf for the last month or so accept for what feels like sinus issues. No big deal really until last week. I had to do some salvage diving to recover cargo that had gone into the sea. I was only diving in about 30 feet of water so excessive pressure wasn't a problem but I was constantly going up and down which means I was having to equealize often. I went through a tank and a half so I was up and down for about 1.5 hrs. Since then I have been having the symptoms of a HA but no full blown HA. Red, burning eye, twinges of pain that sometimes creep into my jaw but then go away quickly. Constant shadows but nothing really bothersome. It feels more like a sinus problem but then I've been fooled like that before. Anybody experience problems after diving?

Isn't there something with changing the air pressure around you rapidly and getting sick. I forget what its called but if I where you I would go to a docter and get it checked out. People with CH have high thresholds for pain. Something that has the intensity of a shadow could actually be something serious. Get well soon.

I did a bit of diving, but that was before clusters set in. A few people here have commented that they don't get hit while diving, but are more susceptible a day or two after. Others have mentioned flying on an airplane as a trigger. The oxygen receptors in the body are already skrewed up a bit, and diving could affect that - not 100% sure, but it makes sense. Nitrogen narcosis might also disturb nerve functioning like alcohol or nitroglycerin. There was some work on hyperbaric oxygen helping with clusters - a few claims that it might break a cycle, but in the end, I'm not sure it was any more effective than regular oxygen. Which side of the island were you on? I remember paddling around the surf at Blowing Point beach in Anguilla (next to the ferry landing). Very nice.

Well i am a truck driver --- not a diver but I came home and logged on to ask a very similar question regarding "ch like" activities going on in my head. Like you I too have had the stuffy (plugged) nose, eye pressure on the right, and thumping on the teeth all along with k1 shadows. This seemed strange since my true cycle ended in May. Shortly after that these things started... Nero said "sometimes that happens" my response was "we'll I don't like it -- make it stop" ---- he just kind of chuckled. The odd thing about this new band is that they will play for about 10 days or so and leave only to return about a week later. (Think god their playing softly) I will say this about this new band --- If I have got to have a band booked in my head, they have a life time gig. The original one is fired. (Now with my luck the original one will get postal)

I used to do some sport diving & it did affect ch. You know the saying about drinking & driving don't mix? One could say the same about ch & diving. Be careful & always have a buddy!

Alright thanks I'll just see how this plays out. I got hit on a flight once also. It rates right up there with the worst I've had but I had a real sweetheart of a flight attendent looking after me. Sorta made it all worth while Floridian, Unfortunately I was diving around the commercial pier on the Dutchside of SXM. The water is crystal clear but the view is not exactly National Geographic quality. I know Blowing Point well. The beaches in Anguilla are amongst the best in the world. David A, sounds like we like the same music. btw Redbull does help
