Genetics and CH

CH has been passed down from generation to generation in my family.  It's our family curse.  I have it, my father has it, my aunt has it, my grandfather has it, my great aunts have it, and my great grandfather had them.  I dont know about anyone further back than that but my guess is they had them too.  I was wondering if everyone else is like this or are some people the first in their family to get them.  If CH is a genetic thing then maybe we all have a common ancestor.  Just something to think about.

I believe the latest research indicates about a 1 in 10 chance of passing it on.

My father had it, in fact his disappeared before mine started. He is now 73 and hasn't had them since he turned 60.

I hope I follow the same pattern.

I have two children, my son (age 27) hasn't had any attacks (yet), my daughter (age 23) has what appears to be chronic migraine, although 5 different doctors have given her 5 different diagnosis'.

I'm the first person in my family to have them.  My mother, grandfather's brother and his son have migraines.  My sister doesn't get either.  No one on my father's side has/had them.
