Chronics..afraid to jinx a PFDAN?

Most mornings I wake up with a kip 4 headache. (I usually sleep through the night) Every once in a while maybe every 2-3 weeks, I wake up without one. I always notice this once I've had a cigarette. Then maybe 10 am or so - I notice that I still don't have any pain. Great - I think to myself...and stop right there...because I think that if I celebrate that fact I'll get a headache. Then maybe 2pm I think - Hey this might be a PFD, but I don't want to jinx it-   If I'm still cruisin' by dinnertime - I want to share this amazing luck with my beloved...he's so supportive... but hey - don't want to jinx it.... I end up telling him the next day. Am I OCD or does this happen to other chronics? Huh

Strange creature these clusters are.

Can you jinx it by talking about it?

Can you feel one coming on just by reading this message board and thinking too much about it?

For me, no and no. But, for some maybe yes and yes.

Marc used to be like that (been chronic for 3 years) but now if he is having a PF day then we go out and do something as a family - live for the moment.

When you are not in pain just try your hardest not to think about the beast (i know its hard) and just enjoy the PF time.

For most chronics the PF time is very sparse so look forward to these times and then enjoy them to the up most!

I haven't had a pain free day since this crap started 5 weeks ago,  but I am beginning to get grateful for pain free hours.  When I can go more than four hours without a Kip 4 shadow, I feel like celebrating.

I totally understand!  When D's p/f time would lengthen a few hours, and I would *happy dance* he would get slammed...so I quit *L*  But, synergy is right (Jackie gave me the same advice) enjoy every p/f moment!! (oh, and now I *happy dance* all the time!)

*positive light and energy*
