I'm curious - alcohol, even several drinks, does not trigger  a CH for me during a cycle.  How common is that?

uncommon, but not unheard of.

Overall it seems alcohol is a sure fire trigger for episodics but not so much for chronics.

Damn chronics.

Chronics suck.

The beast loves alcohol.  It gives him strength.  One time I tryed to see if i could get drunk enough to pass out and not have pain.  I was wrong, WAY wrong.  Your lucky gpolma.

Any alcohol really messes me up when I am in cycle.  Can't even take communion at church.

One sip off of one beer will give me a kip 10 every time when I'm in cycle.

Out of cycle no problem.  On the up side, I don't develope a tolerance so I'm a cheap drunk...lol...

Alcohol triggers me in cycle of course, but sometimes does, sometimes doesn't out of cycle. Volume and what I am drinking is a factor. Red wine, beer, and schnapps, are sure fire triggers (while out of cycle) if I don't mask beforehand with cafergot which is effective.

MSG, any time, in anything, triggers 100%, no matter what I might take to try to mask it.

ex pat asia - I feel for you on the out of cycle thing.  I was a wine collector for years before the onset of CH a few years ago, and that would have really compounded my misery.

In cycle I usually get hurt real bad after any alcohol, but sometimes you've got live life and throw caution to the wind.
But I must admit I only adopted that idea after I found O2 and imitrex. Wink
