Well I finally saw the new neuro today. And surprise, surprise he actually knew about CH and the first thing he asked if I used O2. I must admit that I was very surprised, I didn't even have to get out all the paper I printed out. He knew the stuff already. Told him that my cycle was ending (btw that was suposed to be a secret ), and he told me to start weening off the prevent meds, contrary to what my well meaning but dufus GP told me. I suspect that being on the verapamil prior to my cycle starting actually rendered the verap useless. Which is what I told the neuro. He said if your cycle is done, no need to take the meds. Gave me a script for O2 at 8 lpm with a non rebreather mask, and a script for Lorazepam .5mg to help me with anxiety and to help me relax. He made the comment that he had success with the nasal canula's for O2 therapy. Kind of made me wonder, but hey, he seemed to be in the right general direction. He didn't even flinched when I told him that I wanted the non-rebreather mask. I'm pretty hopeful that this guy is going to help. Got a follow up in December, but can get in sooner if my cycle starts again. I guess I'm really just relieved that I found a doc that maybe can help me. After trying to educate my well meaning dufus of a GP for years, this was very much a relief. PFDAN to All John Oh I forgot, gotta get an MRI on Thursday. Yeah I know, but at this point I'll go along.

Thats great news, probably the most fustrating thing in my experience has been clueless Docs. If you are having the O2 delivered ask the supply company for a regulator that will go up to 15 lpm. The 8 lpm may be enough for you but not in my experience. And make sure they deliver enough to last between deliveries. Oh, and you may want to star knitting sweaters and doillies and stuff to decorate your tank with, it will soon be your best friend Breath deep and enjoy the relief ~Andy
