The dull ache that you feel between ch attacks (that most people would call in sick to work for, if they ever felt that bad), or the feeling you get before you get hit, those are MY definitions of shadows.

Shadow = A clusterheadache that is not a full blown attack. (I consider a shadow to be a KIP 5 or less) Unsolved

It's a cross between what Thomas said and Unsolved said. It's a dull annoying pain in the teeth, eye and back of the Cluster side of your head. It lets you know the big one is on the way. Sometimes it will linger for hours and other times you've got 10 minutes to prepare for battle with the Beast. Hope this helps. PF vibes to you.

I always referred to that as the aura if it was before and the hangover if it was after. That make so much sense now. You'll have to excuse me, I am new to the cluster world, or at least newly diagnosed.

Hi Mj, Ditto to all the above. When I'm at the peak of my cycle, the shadow in my left temple is a constant kip 3-4. I know the cycle is over when I've gone at least a week or two without even a shadow "twinge." Don't be afraid to ask those questions - very few people out there know "clusterhead terminology." Hugs, Kris

To me a shadow is when you have about half a headache , funny feeling on the side of your head and a little pressure there too. Kind of like having half of your head in a real bad hangover.

Earlier in the game, one of my doctors told me it was a rebound headache caused by too much Tylenol, and ect. It's just crazy the different ideas doctors have. I always love the looks I get from them too, like I am full of crap.
