i have not seen alot of info regarding frova and its not listed on the medication survey. Any feedback available? I have been on almost all abortives in the book which typically work for the short duration. Most recently I tried frova and it works for atleast 12 hrs for me during the peak of this cycle. God it feels good to get a full night of sleep w/o an alarm clock h/a. I have been living on samples from the nuero as its a bitch to get approved by my insurance. I also got samples of Amerge which is supposed to work similar or better than frova. Hope the info helps others and the pain stays away!!!!!

Frova is one of the triptan family. I know it has been talked about here - I wonder if you could type in Frovatriptan to the search engine, if that would bring up any posts. I think the cool thing about Frova is that it has a longer half-life, meaning it will stay in your system longer and keep the beast at bay (theoretically). Careful mixing it with Amerge though, ok? Check with a pharamacist to see about interactions...(sometimes they are more current than docs about this stuff.) Actually, I have a drug interaction database bookmarked here: http://www.drugdigest.com/DD/Interaction/ChooseDrugs it says it should be ok to take both Frova and Amerge.

Mixing Tritpans is not a good thing and could lead to serious problems. I would ask a neuro about mixing these 2 drugs. You ARE 'double dipping'. I would think that it would be okay in small amounts, but those who need multiple doses in one day should NOT mix Triptans. Unsolved
