After effects

Hi I have CH's on the left side always, after I've had a really bad one, the next day my face is tender to the touch. It feels like I should have a giant bruise there (no, I don't bang my head on anything). I was wondering if anyone else has the same feeling? My sympathy goes out to all of you who suffer with this. It is nice to know I'm not alone, for the last 28 yrs I thought I was.

Hi Diane, Yes, that is fairly common with a lot of us along with tenderness on top of the head, etc. The left side of my throat also becomes sore and swollen. BTW, welcome. John

Hello Diane, I've consulted this site for years now, but have only joined the message board, so in a way, I am new too. As for the tendeness, sure. After intense headaches, I have a puffiness and redness under my left eye (side that's always affected on me). I also seem to have a bit of swollen soft tissue on the left side of the roof of my mouth. So wacky! I hate this stuff! I hope you're out of your cycle very soon. Regards, Rob

Hi Diane, Left side here also. Yep, sensitive during and after an attack. Sleeping on my left side will start an attack when Im in my time. Running the water from the shower on my head kinda helps. Its confusing how I can actually live through these things sometimes. I have fallen in love with Oxygen.

Yup, I get that tender feeling too... whenever my wife asks me how I feel after I have had a CH-Attack, I tell her the same thing everytime: " I feel like I have been hit across the face with a baseball bat " and thats the only way I can describe it. The whole left side of my face gets sensitve to touch. Sometimes for hours after an attack, and I get a swelling of my left cheek. Sometimes my left eyebrow, above it and below, is also sensitive and swolen. I rub my face a lot (during the attack and after) and it seems like there is an excess amount of fluid under my skin, in these sensitive areas. JOSHMAN

Diane, about the same here, mine are on the right side, after a bad one there is tenderness and light pain in the temple, swollen right eye, sometimes even tenderness under eye and up into top right side of my head. Has taken 2 or 3 days to completely go away. Good thng my head is hard and empty. Hope it lets up soon Jimbo

Welcome Diane, Sorry you are here, but we are friendly, well most of us... I am a rightie and now wear my hair short and neat because being chronic, it was a pain just to brush my hair...tenderness seems normal for most and just when I went chronic found also get numbness on right nostril and upper lip...Seems CH does not want us to forget the visits easily, doesn't it?
