Welcome. I can't talk about Depakote, I never used it but I sure someone will answer that question for you. Cluster headaches are caused by a broken hypothalamus. You were born with it. From the OUCH website. Click this http://www.clusterheadaches.org/library/hypothalamus/index.htm Also from the OUCH website, Click this for a picture of the trigeminal nerve (it’s the orange colored one. Dilated vessels press on the nerve and cause pain. http://www.clusterheadaches.org/library/general/trigeminal_pic.htm Lots of more good information over at the OUCH wesite under the yellow OUCH website button on the left side of your screen. And while you're at it, check under all the buttons on the left.

From my understanding, CH is related to a malformed/malfunctioning hypthalmus . . which is deeper/more center . . .and yes, Depakote works on the frontal lobe. *positive light and energy* miapet
