If you are going to survive clusters, or any other chronic medical problem, it's important to work at NOT trying to predict the future. We are all tempted to ask questions--why?, when?, etc. but, since we can't answer them, staying focused on such questions only generate anxiety and all the distress that goes with it. Please spend your time and energy in learning about clusters, how to treat them, how to live your life even though you have them. This kind of coping will help as much as anything you can do.

If you are pain free but on meds then how do you know the cycle hasn't ended/ I know of no one who has been completely pain free due to meds while in cycle. Quote:Please spend your time and energy in learning about clusters, how to treat them, how to live your life even though you have them. |
| Very wise words.

I've never been pf for a cycle, no matter what meds I used. So don't build your hopes on a false dream. Just find some meds that work on aborting the ch, and make you have less ch's during your cycle.

Heres a little hope for ya. My last cycle was the most brutal I had ever experianced and lasted 9 months. After IV DHE I was blessed with a 3 year remission. That recently ended. Now at 480 Mg per day verapamil and that is holding the attacks at bay for the most part. Bottom line is if you are CH free then you are not in cycle in the first place and shouldn't need meds.

How do you know if you're in cycle if you are PF ? Don't quite get the questions ? Dunno, prevents don't work for me anyways. Only suggestion I can come up with is to try to stop taking your meds and see if you get hit. Good Luck. Hope your cycle is over.
