I'd like to hear from other women going through the change of life. Are your CH changing as far as quality and frequency? Mine are going into slo-mo. More time in between, slower onset, but just as stubborn. Anyone else reluctant to tell anyone about your headaches for fear of hearing, "Do you think it's stress?" Speaking of stress, I'm awed by all of you who have many CH a day. I don't know how you cope.

I used to get 8 ha a day for 6 years straight. The drs were convinced that my high stress job as a computer programmer made them worse and more frequent. Well I quit my job and stayed home for the last 4 years and it made no difference in my ha. Also I had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago. That never effected my ch either however it did effect my migraines.

Went thru menopause in 1996... Had my first CH 5 years later. I am not reluctant about telling anyone about my CH. I have no stress, and the people that really know me.....would NEVER suggest that stress is a factor. Jean

Re. special needs of women. Both of these in HEADACHE QUARTERLY, Vol X, #2, 1991: "Women and headaches:a comprehensive approach", p. 31-36. "Special considerations in the management of headache in women", p. 37-43. The last one focuses on role of hormones in headache and how medications must be altered. Your local hospital may have a medical library where you can find this journal or take the full citation to you library and they can obtain copies.
