Brain demage?

I am 44, and 20 years CH survivor, yet, my last episode was totally new experience, beside the fact that it was the first time I got a “10”, it took 4 hours (usullay its 0.5-2) with all the symptoms, each on top scale.
My big concern now, 2 days after, is that I have difficulties in talking, probably a damage to the brain because of this trauma. My questions are:
1. Does any one experienced this results from CH
2. If yes, how long it take (If at all….) till things will come back to normal

Thanks!

5 years ago I had a an 8 hour headache which was a 10 most of the time. I never had trouble talking. I suggest you see a Doc right away as something else can be going on.

I've never heard of clusters themselves affecting gray matter. They just hurt like hell. A 4 hour bout is horrible but if you are having speech difficulty, it's probably a good time to see if there is something else going on.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Usuallly after  my attacks I feel nearly wonderful, kind of elated and I have had them for  nearly 45 years.  After the 9s and 10s though,  I am usually exausted. Never anything more than that. Check ... sometimes I have been rubbing my head so much, and so hard, that it will be a tad sore for a coupla of days. I am lucky I didn't get frostbite outside this winter chilling my body to redirect blood flow.  But that's it.

I agree, I think a trip  to the doctor is a good thing to consider if only to set your mind at ease.

Keep us posted how you are doing.

Thanks guys !

Well, I went to the doctor, she said, like you, that this is not "part" of the package. still, she thinks that due to the ongoing pain I had, some side effects might happen.
If things will not get better, I will go to farther tests.
SInce I am not aware of such side effect in CH, I wonder if any one else had it.

Not sure quite what you mean about difficulties talking.

Quite a few people have written here about experiencing difficulty saying anything other than fuck, shit, arse and bollocks during an attack.
Quite a few others find that multiple attacks create such chronic tiredness that forming whole sentences is hard.

If it is more than this, it would be good to find out what is going on.

If you have ch on the left side, I would definitely get it checked out as that is the side that is responsible for speech and cognitive thought.
