It was a mild one, but it sure went on for a long time! A little pre-holiday excitement! OH, the joys of living in California!

Mild where you are but in SLO town I've got stuff off the shelves, pictures down. It was BIG!! If you felt it 200 miles away, somebody really got rocked.
They're saying a 6.5 at Cambria, about 20 miles up the coast from me.

I just heard that it was centered near San Simeon, CA. I can't believe we felt it all the way up here! Hopefully, all the clusterheads on the central coast are ok, and nothing's broken..
It was over a 6 down there...

Marc is about 2 miles from me. I'm sure he has some stuff broken. We've got some building damage in town.
Hey Frank, I was there for the Sylmar quake so it's not new to me but this is the biggest one I've ever ridden out. Glad I was only 4 steps from the front door when it hit. We've already had some 3 and 4+ aftershocks.
God, I love California!!!!!

To all of the guys in the vicinity of the highest peak of the 6.5...
Just be glad you weren't getting like a vasectomy at the time. Could cause a 6.3 to be accidently brought down to 3.1.

We've got some fatalities in colapsed buildings. Mostly in Paso Robles. Lots of the buildings around here are 1800's type.

Like Bob said, just stuff falling off the walls, and out of the kitchen cabinets here. Some broken windows, dishes and pictures at neighbors houses. The Morro Bay Embarcadero waterfront seems to have dropped a few inches based on cracks in road at the base of the bluff.
One neighbor told me that highway 46 between Paso and Cambria has some really bad sink holes and buckling. We just got our power back 30 minutes ago.
I was standing at the base of the power plant stacks when it hit. Elaine - I agree - I was sure that it was a Hog Back Growler from Los Osos!
