Well Gang,
It looks like Slammy will be relocated from Sunny Southern California to Raleigh, North Carolina ! 
Unless I can find a better offer to stay, I should be out there around the June or July time frame... 
I'm trying to list all the good things about North Carolina to help me make the transition... but I am stuck on ZERO! 
Help me out!?!

Well Slammy, I live 6 miles from the beach right outside of Wilmington. So I will be close by. Other than I can't think of much good in NC. Just me! Anyway, let me know when you get here! I am not far south of Raleigh, a couple of hours is all. Plus Lil Deb is in Raliegh.

Great mountains in the west for skiing.
My favorite: Buxton, NC a.k.a. Cape Hatteras. Surf Fishing, beer, surfing, beaches, babes, beer, sun, beer and miles of open beaches to drive on and explore.

Cheaper EVERYthing. Lower taxes (this is, after all, the strong hold of the Republican party), better cost of living, lower crime, we dress better, fried foods are good for you, college football is religion, we have better manners, et al.

Don't like any of the college football teams here.
But Brian, now we can talk about some good food! You can eat some serious food here. Nothing like Calabash style seafood platter! I live too close to Wilmington for anyone to have manners. The women are mostly uptight southern belles who are more concerned about the right color of pink lipstick and who their manicurist slept with to be polite. But the food rocks!

No contest on the fishing.
Few Californians.
Cost of living is much lower.
More Humidity.
Some pretty strange drivers, but they don't shoot at you.
Tax burden is lower, so more beer money.
Beer is pretty marginal, plentiful though.
The people are really from this planet.
Wonderful place for boating.
Surfing is so-so but uncrowded.
Its over 2000 miles from Oregon.
Thats fairly unbiased.
Ofcourse YMMV
