Hello all, I have had the chronic clusters for abotu four years now. I was wondering if the ever go away. My specialist seems to think that at some point they will but I am not so sure. Currently I have Immitrex Nasal for abostive (jsut go Zomig Nasal too) and 240 verapamil for preventative. Thanks

Do they go away? Yes. Then they come back again. and again. and again. But, they may go away and never come back. Or you may out-grow them (at about age 60, + or - 10) Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear you're hurting. Talk to your doc about upping the verapamil dose. 240 is a low dose. Some folks are on 2 to 4 times that amount. Also talk to the doc about oxygen. (click the 'oxygen info' button on the left side of your screen. Good luck. Stick around. Lots of help here.

Welcome aboard. I hate to see another but if one has to suffer from this horror, you'll find some good information here. I'm 57 years old and mine went away 12 years ago when I was 45 in 1991. I was episodic and after 22 years, they were gone. They do indeed go away and it's not very clear why. I think there is an age factor but there are people older than I who have developed clusters. There are others here who have been in very long remissions as well. Good luck and stick around and let us know how it's going. Charlie

"It only hurts for a little while." or a long while - I think for some they go away and for others they may not. Don't give up hope. Hang in there. pfnad.
