Now, news and thanks to my family!

Dear Friends, Looks like Thanksgiving has fallen at the right time. We’ve now got word from the extra testing and our doctors that there is no evidence that the spots are indeed tumors. They believe that these spots are enlarged facet joints on the two vertebrae in question, and not what we were dreading. One appears to be pressing against the spinal cord, but no one can confirm if this has been the source of the many symptoms. My Doc doesn’t believe this to be a serious concern now, so either will I. I’m canceling all further appointments and will work at moving on. If successful, guess we’ll never know what’s been going on and if I heal fully, maybe it won’t really matter. The major symptoms are down, so I need now to ignore as best I can the lingering pain and exercise as much as I can to get myself walking and in shape to return to work. To tell the truth, this isn’t sinking in as quickly as I would have expected. I’m so very relieved, but can’t seem to express it right now. Maybe it is like when I was episodic with CH, after my cycles it was hard to imagine it was really over? Plus, sheer exhaustion from the long fight. Perhaps as I return to my “normal” life, it will sink in. With enough exercise I may do a little dance later on, which will cause the dog to attack me and we’ll have that long awaited romp in the backyard again. (Of course someone very close to me will attack first, but I may be a little on the shy side of talking about that) I think the thing that hits home most through all this that means more to me than learning I may heal, is learning how much compassion and support has come from so many. Annette, so strong for so long, encouraging as well as tough when I need it, support and love beyond my deserving. I could write a book about the many things she means to me, but put it all together and it comes to one thing, I just love her. Need no reasons other than she is Annette, that’s more than enough. My immediate family, they’ve been beside me throughout for years and have been as supportive as can be. My mother called tonight and Annette gave her the news, when asked how I was feeling about it, Annette said, “I don’t really know? You ask him.” She handed me the phone and I honestly didn’t know what to say. My mother said, “That’s alright, I’d bet Lazarus was a bit speechless in his moment as well.” (Good answer Mom!) My friends; those who know me in person, those who know me by postings and E-mails and those who see a person in need and all are there when you need them. Words of wisdom, compassion, support, advice, vibes and prayers. I can’t help but think of the beginning of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” with all the prayers going out, not only did they reach me, but God as well. I have no doubt about that, and thank you all. God; I used to think the life I’ve been through was all due to having to go through trail after trial my whole life to teach me lessons for the future, or to build me a certain way. But now look at it different, this was just the life I was given, many things were of my own doing, some just circumstance, and the rest just life. God didn’t bring these things on me, but he got me through them. That’s where I’m at now in my mind, God, Annette, my family and all of you my extended family are more on my mind than this healing. Yes, most would be expecting me to be excited from the doctors’ news, cheering for the new possibilities in my life ahead. I’ll get there, but now I’m more in a state of awe, my life is no longer about the pain and fears, but just how blessed I am to have all of the above as part of my life. I hope this all makes sense, I’m as relieved as can be, but am taking some time to think of everyone who got me here and how deeply grateful I am. Determined to be walking strong by Nashville and give everyone of you a firm hug of appreciation! There will be much more to be thankful for this Thanksgiving than just my health, I will be so thankful for everyone of you who are here for me, and will continue to ask for God’s blessings on your lives as well! With all my heart, I truly thank you all … Happy Thanksgiving!!! Dave

Oh my golly gosh! (Australian for: FU**ENEH! FU**ENEH! FU**ENEH!) This post is like going to a real church. I don’t think I’ve ever been to one before. No collection plate. No deals for salvation. Only truth. I am balling my eyes out in tears as I write this. I am so happy for you and your family, and so proud of our CH family. I will remember this moment forever. David J.

Dave This news is so wonderful. I can't imagine the dreadful roller coaster of emotions you and your family have been and are going through, but what a day to celebrate if you can. Prayers were heard and answered. My day is made so thank you for telling us. Here's hoping the docs can solve the remaining problems and help you with your pain Wendy

Oh heck, I knew you were faking it all along... (What? you expected something mushy from ME! ) Get up and exercise -- I want a dance in Nashville (the kind with a band and all that - not the demon). And get back to work - Annette probably wants you out of the house for a while.... And I'm not waiting for Nashville for a hug.... I'm sending a BUNCH of them thru cyperspace to you and Annette. Great news really.... So happy for you and Annette... Now go eat some turkey, hug Annette and get to work... Hugs BD
