We are the Champions of the World! Huuurrrrrraaaaaahhhhhh! (Beat the Aussies in a nailbiter of a final of the World Rugby today where the final conversion that clinched it was in the last seconds) probably means nowt over there, but a HUGE amount here as we finally are world champions in a sport we invented. My Dad keeps waffling on about the UK being World Fishing champions as well, but I'm not sure that counts. Wendy

a 'toss' is a roll-in-the-hay. Some people call it a 'f*@k". 'nowt'... I'm assuming it's a misspelling of naught or nought And no, it didn't even make the sports news over here. Over here we play *real* football.

Wow -finally figured out a game you invented - and haven't played well since the untouchables kicked your asses in ninteen twenty - when was it?? Well done. Sincere congratulations - really pleased to hear the Australians lost to England - dunno about the all Blacks losing to Australia though... After this pain is past I will have to go and face all these over the moon poms at my local - Will deal with that by going and taking the mick at the Aussies local.

Well, if I get your drift......congratulations and all that. Gotta love what they do to the language over there There is no such word as "noone" in any form of English. (had to get that in ) We can get rugby on one of the ESPN channels now. It's not on my favorites list. No one has days to see cricket. Charlie

Jeez Wendy... I just watched the game (yes, the whole game, including overtime and the postgame). I am now completely convinced that all of those players are, well, insane. That is a hell of a sport. Wilkenson is a brilliant kicker, but the real credit goes to the ones who slog it out in the scrums and forward runs. Most of those hits were brutal enough to take out a good number of our football players, and Rugby guys play with little cushions on their head instead of helmets! There sheer heart and guts it must take to finish a game like that it amazing, let alone a double overtime. England made a lot of mistakes, but they won in the end. I think the ref kind of lost patience with England during the second half, and if not for that there might not have been an overtime at all. All in all, a great game and a great result for England. I guess they'll knight Clive soon, and the Wilkenson boy looks tailor made for the endorsement gravy train, eh? -Shawn

Fu It wasn't a good game, but it was exciting! It won't be popular hinting that Rugby players are tougher than American Footballers You get burned alive for that one! Johnny is likely to get very rich now, but not in the league of your sports stars I don't think. W P.S. Is one of those you KOP?
