Has anyone else been mapped for seizures?

My regular Nero Dr is sending me to another Nero Dr who specializes in seizures. They are going to do a 3 to 5 day mapping of my brain during my CH attacks to see if they are some form of seizure, apparently they have spoken in depth about my condition and have come up with a couple of their own theories. None of the medications have helped to prevent or abort the headaches, but then again they never have. I'm currently on Topmax 2x a day, Migranol, Zomig, and Loratabs for my CH.
I was wondering if anyone else has gone through similar mapping?

Nope not for ch or epilepsy.  Ch is not epilepsy or seizure activity.  There is a definite difference for I used to have epilepsy but have been seizure free for 10 years now.  Sounds to me like your dr is doubting your ch diagnosis or thinks that something else is going on in addition to your ch.  I would think it would be a painless procedure but a waste of time as far as ch alone is concerned unless you are having symptoms that warent it. Strange.  Have fun mapping!

Welcome aboard and I hope you get some good results.

To answer your question, I've had epilepsy for 44 years. It has nothing to do with my headaches. My father had seizures too.  Mapping? I suppose there's more than one name for everything. It makes the test sound expensive. The first test they do is usually an EEG. If you see a neurologist, you may have had this done. One thing about neurological tests is that they don't hurt. They're incredibly boring and look like something out of B-movies but painless.

My bet is that you don't have seizures. It looks like they want to rule out everything. These guys want to help you but cluster headaches are frustrating. I still have the seizures but my headaches have been gone for 12 years. When these ghouls get through testing, make sure they have as much CH info as you.

Good luck and let us know how you make out. You'll find tons of good CH information here.

i would go for it.  they are starting to treat us with anticonvulsants and it may be a type of over reaction in the nervous system that causes this in some people.  you may lead some research in the field that helps us all.  hope all goes well. BE PF.

Nope, but my GP did say, that she wants to have my brain scanned just in case. I don't know when that will happen, but anyway.

Best wishes & PFdays,
