Where is the Problem?
« on: Nov 18th, 2003, 2:19am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

I just went to the OUCH board and voted.  Have you?  There are supose to be over 1000 members.  How come only 70 have logged on to the new board?  Why haven't more people signed on?

Many have complained about the board being too confusing.  This new board is just like this one.  VERY easy to use!  Why haven't more people signed on?

None of the complaints or problems can be corrected without membership support.  Why haven't more people signed up?

I have heard the complaint that many postions do not have any competition.  That is true. Why? because not enough members wanted to sign on to run for office.  DJ has set it up so that if you do NOT want to vote for someone, you can check the NO VOTE position.  This will get your feelings about this member heard.  Why haven't more people signed on?

Quit your bitching about how "bad" OUCH is, if you don't even sign on!  Only input and comment from the membership can change or correct anything.  Why haven't more people signed up?

In case you missed it, Why haven't more people signed on?

Good question Chuck.  Only 70 so far... Where ARE the other 1000 or so?

OUCH is everyone's organization and members should get involved.

The ballots are up == HAVE YOU VOTED YET?

If not - get thee to the polls.........

Then GET INVOLVED with OUCH. The leadership is only as good as the members behind them.....

Ok, in 12 hours, it is now up to 76.  Great going!  Where are the rest?  76 is still a far shot from 1000+ members!

Thomas, puleeeeez don't feel that way...........you are important enough to cast your vote. At least, someone stop me if there is some crazy rule that would specify the need to have been here for a certain amount of time. If so......it needs to be changed!!

Chuck,

There might not be enough people
frequenting both sites to know what
is going on.

For some, non-involvement/non-voting
may be there way of making a statement.

Could be some just haven't "gotten
around to it".

Just guessing at reasons here.

Your post is a good one.

A "wake up call".

Keep up the good work.

Also keep this in mind;

Although there is only one candidate for each office, voting for that candidate or "no vote" gives us an idea as to how many active participating members we have.

So please do not keep from voting simply because of a lack of candidates. Vote anyway!

Kinda like the Iraqi election where the only person on the ballot was Saddam.  Of course, voters could vote against him, but those ballots where misplaced.   Grin

I too found the new site to be a pain in the ass. But I finally logged in. It was not easy.

I tried entering my old login name and old password. That did not work. So I tried entering my old login name and clicked "forgot password". Then I received an email with my new website generated password which was nothing close to my old password.

Once I logged on with the new password, everything was cool.

I voted "No Vote" for everybody, because Arnold Schwarzenegger was not listed as running for any office.

Just tried to vote.  Got to the OUCH website and logged in.  Got to the voting page and it said to login or register.  Tried to login again and it said I don't exist.  What gives?  Had to go through my elbow to get to my knees just to get there.  Perhaps that is why others haven't voted either.

When you click the font size button you get something that looks like [size+2]  .

Type your word VOTE in the middle of the brackets like
VOTE[/ size], then change the 2 to a higher number like an 8 and you get this
VOTE

Latest numbers: 84 members, and 52 votes.

Still a lot of members needed!

You do NOT need to be a member any length of time to vote.  If you are a member, you are qualified to vote.

You have until November 30th to vote, but don't wait until the end to sign on, incase you are having any trouble.

DJ has done a terrific job on the new board, and once the sign on problems are corrected, you will love the new message board.

Sign ON!

And then,
VOTE!
