Blurred Vision - scared the hell out of me

Last night was the first time that I got hit really hard while I was driving. Anyone who has driven in Vegas knows that the traffic here is really bad. Especially if you have to go through the spagetti bowl in 5pm traffic. Well, I got hit with a shadow when I picked up my kids, but did not immediatly get hit with a sweats so I figured I had a little item. Well 15 mins into my drive home, I got hit hard. Here I am in rush hour traffic with my kids in the back seat, and I can bearly see out of my left eye. I finally started hitting my leg to force myself to focus so that I could get home. It scared the crap out of me. I am used to my eye drooping and at times swelling, but that is with 9 and 9+. I've never had it hit like that and the blurred vison at night... I really hope that that was a one time thing. Sorry about the babbling. I was just wondering if anyone else get really blurred vison and is it constant with every HA or random. Thanks, Tiannia

Some times I can't see a damn thing - not total blindness, but very impaired vision.

| Pretty much sounds like 8 out of 10 driver in Vegas. Yep, my cluster eye would tear to bad to see outa. And the other eye would blur out of sympathy.

Been there several times (more than I want to admit). Had to pull over a couple of times and take a shot when I was on Imitrex. Blurred vision always goes with mine. How CAN you see when tears are flowing? Don't know what to tell you - we just all have to learn to deal with it. Just don't leave home without an abortitave. Pull over and take something and WAIT till it gets better.... Might take a little longer to get home, but why take a chance? Hugs BD

Unfortunately, I've been there too. When I was 18 yo and coming up on my second cycle I didn't think to plan ahead. I stayed the night at a friend's apt. and woke up in the morning with my first headache of the cycle and no meds! I had to drive about 25 mins home and the whole way was one-eyed, tears and blurred vision. When I got home I literally crawled across the lawn to the house for my meds. That freaked my Mom out. I hate this crap. Jason

Yup I've gotten blurring in my CH side eye and even temp sight loss in that eye. Wasn't sure if it was the migraine I was having or the CH cause it seems the only times it happens to me is when I am experiences both at the same time.

My vison is definetly effected. I have been in an eye drs exam when getting hit. My vision is perfect normally. However when getting hit my vision is really poor and the eye dr can't correct the vision no matter what lens he drops down in front of my eyes. Scared the crap out of my eye dr. He had never seen anything like it before. I just told him it was part of my ch. He sent me on to a specialist just to be sure and that is what it was determined to be.

| Nucking fut....I drove a truck for over 10 years and I don't know how many times I tried to keep driving through an attack.....after it reaches a certain point all normal function is impossible for me, including driving an 80,000 pound truck. Pull over, it'll pass, mine did! PFDAN's Mark

I know. Afterwards was when I was kicking myself. All I could think about was getting out of that damn traffic. At times in Vegas pulling to the side of the road is more dangerous then driving in it, but you all are right. I should have called my husband to come get us. Hidesight is always 20/20 vision. Tia

I had lots of trouble driving. Once when I was driving home from my brother's house, got attacked and I had to pull over. When I came to, I realized I had stopped right in front of some of Chicago's worst housing projects. I'm lucky. I was a sitting duck. That scared the hell out of me more than the loss of vision...

Yikes. Glad you made it home. One or two anti-seizure drugs have the possible side effect of vision problems but in higher doses I think. They call it a "focus problem." Charlie

Only in my right eye when it's tearing. Although I can't keep it wiped often enough, my vision isn't affected by anything more than looking through tears.

Hi Tiannia, That sounds like a scary symptom, blurred vision. I have had 2 small strokes from my auras, and that was my biggest symptom, the blurred or absent vision. Did you talk to your neurologist about it? I hope that you are feeling better soon. Vi

| I have yet to get my doctor to send me to a neuro yet. I go back and see him on Dec 8th with my "Headache" journal/calander thing. Hopefully then I can get him to refer me. Tia
