And how many are still going in the ER's for the first time and letting Doctors who are busy give them a shot of demrol and send them home?

I remember my first one - middle of the night - home alone - never had a headache in my life (hangovers don't count) and thought I had a brain tumor that was about to burst.

Two months later, a sister-in-law with migraines got me to Scott and White (a teaching hospital) and got a diagnosis. I was one of the lucky ones - if you can call having CH lucky - at least I didn't spend years wondering what the hell was wrong with me.

Tests are important, but ER docs still need to be educated. That's a horrible story - and a wasted life.

Quote from the article...
"Unfortunately, there are times when we do need to question doctors and be insistent about our care. Remember that, and please, be safe."

Ya think!?   Grin

Thanks UE for posting that!

I have to add ........ if you experience anything other than your standard "cluster headache" or unusual symptoms (out of cycle, different symptoms)... demand an MRI as well as letting them know that you suffer from clusters.  Just because you have cluster headaches does not make you imune to other things !!!!!!  Remember, you are ultimately responsible for the health care you recieve.  Doctors don't like it when patients leave screaming NEGLIGENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
