What is your timeline for 1st time CH, and smoking

Been many a discussion here about smoking being related to CH. I am one of those who dont believe it.

My 1st CH episode came at the age of 16, I started smoking at the age of 21. How can there be a correlation?

Hi Patrick
I started smoking at 16 and got CH at 26.  I dont believe there is any connection between the 2.  People just tend to blame smoking for everything these days.  Cheesy

Have a great friday,

Smoking and clusters being related is just horsepucky.

I started smoking at 15 or 16. Started getting clusters at 26 or 27. I still smoke now and haven't had a cycle for 4 years.

But, It might be a good idea if all you other smokers quit.

Hmmm I'll be honest. Grew up pretty quick with the wrong crowd, as it were.

Started smoking pot and cigarrettes at the age of 10
Began getting clusters episodically at age 17
After February of '98, they were'nt stopping, and I got scared. I wound up losing almost everything I owned, and aslo got a sweeeeeeeet gig with a touring oldschool metal band called "Anthrax." By September of '98, I was useless. There was no cessation, my didn't know why.
Then in April of '99 a friend stumbled upon this website, gave me the link - and this place became like a refuge for me. I didn't understand at first that, if you haven't saw a break in a year, you are prolly chronic. I didn't want to face this harsh reality of everything I had worked so hard for in my life just slip away without a hint or trace. The only thing that kept me sane in my biggest bout of '93 was that I kept a journal of everything, and really let it all hang out. Later, when things were better, I would read that journal from the darkest era of my life I ever knew.
THis place almost became my journal in some ways. BUt I found alot more here. I found people who UNDERSTOOD and had to DEAL with this beast - Clusterheads!

I forgot...what was the topic of this thread again?

P.S. since I quit smoking for a whopping longest stint of 3 weeks earlier of this year... now I make Bette Davis look like an occasional smoker. I can't quit, no matter what I do, I can't quit. I wanna quit, I know I should quit, and when I get on the doublebass on the drumset - I forget I am not the 17 y/o flying teen I used to be

I started smoking back in the `60's (planned to quit when they went to 50 cents a pack.) I was in my teens. CH started in the `90's, when I was in my mid-40's.  Smoking & CH are OBVIOUSLY related......and anyone that can't see the correlation is a fool. Heh.

Started smoking at 12, clusters at 18--I'm sure smoking is not good for you but I don't think it has anything to do with it, if it did why do non-smokers get clusters.

I was going to quit but decided- I'm NO QUITTER

Started smoking over 40 years ago ... only had ch for over 20 years ...  Guess it did cause them (???) ...   Like Mr.Happy, as soon as they reached fifty cents a pack I was gonna quit, then a dollar, Now waiting till they get to ten dollars a pack ... Was only twenty three cents a pack when I started ...

I started smoking at around 10 or 12.  CH started 7 years ago.  I quit smoking 6 months ago and the last time I was hit was 2 weeks ago.  I had been pain free for 96 days...a record for me!!!

Normally I should be in cycle right now...but it seems to be staying at bay.  Probably the thought of that new neuro I'm seeing next month is scaring it away! LOL

Started smoking at 16 smoked until I was 25.  Anywhere from a pack to 2 packs a day. Have not smoked since.  6 years later I started getting clusters this last year. I cant see how that would connect the two.

I started smoking at 14, quit for 1-2 years around the ages of 20 and age 38, otherwise FT smoker since 1965. I'm 52 now, CH began 3 years ago ... the smoking/CH link is bogus.
