Pain - KABOOM!

Holy crud - I just had pain in a way I've never had it before. And my ch is like clockwork - shadow, warning stab - boom....twice a day, once a night. Anyway...

It felt like a bomb - it just coursed through a slab of the side of my head. I had to kneel down - it took my breath away. I'm sure I howled because a colleague rushed over. But then it left just as fast.

It felt like Kip0 - Kip10 - Kip0 in 5 seconds.

Anyone have that happen before?

Well, if it happens again, and again, and again - check with your doctor.
I get that anywhere for 10 times a day to 10 times an hour. It's like a lightning bolt rips through the side of my head, I see white for about 2 seconds, then everything fades back in and I see stars for a few seconds. It is a condition known as Chronic Paloxysmous Hemicranea (CPH). A friend of mine calls it 'star wars' and can see it in my face when it happens. He'll just say "Ah, star wars?" Yeah.
Fun fun fun.

I've had that happen and thought it was just an offshot of "icepicks"  -- IS THAT WHAT IT IS???? Geezzz~ something ELSE to worry with!  Maybe it doesn't happen often enough to worry with --- I just don't need  to have anything else wrong with my damn head!!

I had those stabs in the eye for a couple of months after my last cluster cycle.

I referred to them as "What the fuck was that!"

But I feel much better now  Cheesy

Well, I like the "star wars" and "wtf was that?" analogy...that's sure what it was...

Lovely, a NEW thing! Just when I was becoming really "comfortable (har har)" with the OLD thing.

This sure does make you learn how to be adaptable...

Yup, I call them zaps.
One time I had one so severe that I went into an instant panic.  I almost ran out of my apartment screaming in the night.  At that instant I felt like I lost my sanity.  I get them frequently, but that one was so severe... let's just say that I'm glad it didn't last more than 8 seconds...

Sounds to me like SUNCT, which I believe sometimes accompanies CH, and is more common in clusterheads.  It's another TAC.

Those are very normal for me for about 1 to 2 hours after my cluster leaves my head, I have named them "After Shocks" My wife knows every time i get one because i squint my right eye for a few seconds and then it disappears, She just says to me "Aftershock?" and i nod!!

Don't know if it is normal but it seems to be for me!!

I get them during my cycle also.  Brings me to my knees for about 5 to 10 seconds and then is gone.  Just a reminder during the day from the beast.
