CH artical in nurses rag...

Hi all. Haven't posted much lately, but I have been checking in every other day or so to see how things are going. The other day, my mother who has been a RN for nearly 40 years brought me an article about CH that was printed in a nurses magazine she gets. The magazine, "advance for nurses", is a publication that is suited towards RN's in the state of Florida and passes along information that pertains to this profession. There is a website for the rag www.advanceweb.com but I have not gone to see if you can pull up the article. Nothing spectacular in the article. I've learned more from this web site than in the contents of the article, but the fact is the news is getting out about CH. I take this as a positive since this article is going to be read by hundreds, if not thousands, of nurses in this state. I recall when I first expereinced these things, nobody seemed to know anything about them. Over the past few years, and going through a couple new doctors, I can see that Cluster Headaches is not as 'vague' as it once was. Will try to get a scan done on the article for those interested. Regards and keep up the good fight. Andy

Check out this blurb from the article... "Some CH sufferers report success in reducing the incidence of attacks and the pain during an attack with low doses of hallucinogens such as LSD and psilocybin mushrooms regardless of the illegality of such substances." I have the whole article saved in ms word if anybody wants to grab it. You can subscribe to Advance for free and access the article online quite easily (I did) -Fu

| If you note the attribution, you'll see the information on mushrooms/lsd was gathered from Erowid, via posts and discussions there by Pinksharkmark. Way to go PSM...three thumbs up from the Clusterbusters!! PF

This is an excellent article. It is the one that helped me to finally self-diagnose my headaches. I, too read the footnotes and checked out the other web sites. How bad can it be...after all, it led me here!! Donna D.
