My head is a mess, my life is a mess, I just want to crawl into my bed and sleep for a week. I got a wonderful job offer (I've been a stay at home mom for almost 4 yrs now) at a very well known machine shop here. They will start me at $15 an hour and after abit I could be up to 17 an hour. Great benefits. Probably could get on 2nd shift too and that would work out very well. But my head gets worse and worse as the day wears into night. How can I start a new job with that going on. Not only has it been so long since I've worked on a Lathe or Bridgeport (dont know which job I'd get but Iknow it'd be on one of those) but its been so long since I've worked outside my house period. I really don't care for working in a shop, but my father taught me well and I was really good at it way back when I did that kind of work. This is a shop that ppl are always trying to get a job at. One of the best paying and such great benefits. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'd hate to get a job and totally bomb cause I'm rusty cause its been so many years since I've worked in a shop. I'd hate to get a job and lose it cause of these damn CH's. But I'd also hate to turn down such a great opportunity when we really could use the money right now. Wow that was a weird vent....alrighty I'm done ty for listening.

I say you should go for it, if the beast gets in the way the worst thing they could do is let you go. Most companies allow at least 90 days to evauluate you no matter what. $7,200.00 looks pretty good to me. Lee

First of all thanks for the advice...helped clearify my own thinking for me. Well I sat down and thought about it and what the hay I'm going to try it and if it don't work out I either quit or get fired lol. And it'll be some really great money. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it really is like riding a bike! I'm going down tomorrow to find more out.

Hey Tarann, I can't help you with the question of what you'll do if you lose a job over CH. But I noticed a very important sentence in your post. You said...."My father taught me well and I was really good at it" If he did and you were. You'll do just great hon. !!!!! Kick ass, Taraann. We here rooting for you. LindaH

Well I'm still a stay at home mom.... The deal I made with my hubby was if he didnt find a job by Monday evening, I would go and get a job. Then the Machine shop offer came up and we were like ok there it is so lets take it. Well hubby got THREE wonderful job offers this morning. All with great pay and jobs he is very very interested in. SO I am stepping back from the job scene again for now to see what turns out with his job offers. My husband is the type of guy that is a great provider and hates the fact that his job situation has been less than perfect lately. He is a hard worker and can't stand "sitting" around the house. Unfortunately the 2 jobs he is leaning towards would not work out schedule wise if I took the shop job.... Just wanted to update you all on what is going on. Thanks for all lyour well wishes and advice. I'm actually dissapointed a little about not getting back to work. I wont' work days cause I like being home with the kids. Maybe a part time job in the evenings .... just gonna see what happens.
