Anyone share this frequency in their clusters?

I just joined this site yesterday and still have a lot to read, but I haven't noticed frequency like mine...the symptoms are identical but my clusters recur every 4 years in August and last approximately 6 weeks. This is the 4th time (12 years) and they are as regular as clockwork. Does anyone have this odd kind of frequency? The doctor gave me a Rx for Esgic Plus and it works really well, especially if you take it as soon as you feel it start. Also, putting a heating pad on the side of my head and on my eye feels wonderful!

My last cycle lasted almost 4 months. Before that I had a 3 years break. The last cycle was the most unusual of all. The headaches weren't nearly as intense and I was only getting them about 3 times a week (in a normal cycle I get about 3 a day/5 times a week).

Mine are crazy CH's I can have 5 in a day and then only 1 the next day, they USUALLLY occur at night, but sometimes I will get one or two during the day, they occur at different times of the year, I had a cycle last winter and I am going through a cycle right now, maybe it has something to do with global warming or something??? I wish they were like clock work so I could get ready and never make plans for those times. However the only thing I CAN count on is the span of time, they are always three months to the day...

Mine are usually 18 months apart, but have been anywhere from 12 to 24 months apart. My cycles used to 6 to 8 weeks long, but since being med-free for the last 5+ years, they have got shorter and shorter. Last cycle was only 2.5 weeks. grant

Hi Dianne, Welcome ....... There is alot to read and obsorb. Please read all of the info. It is invaluable. The "beast" is no respector of persons, and he hits all of us in a different way. Not everything works for everone. But ya know, during an attack I am willing to try just about anything !!!! Where heat works for you, I have to have ice. Ice paks to my right eye, temple and neck area. As far as frequency, wow.......you should read all the posts. Some folks live with this day in and day out. For some there is NO relief. I am currently on a Prednisone taper, and have been pf for 9 days now. However I will not let my guard down. I know that rascal is still out there....... There are some really great folks here on this site, Dianne. They will help you in any way they can. I have been here all day and all nite at times....and there is always someone here to help. Wishes to ya from Texas....for lotz of pfdan's ;D Jean

hi I was pretty much ch free for 5 years until the last 4 yrs ... Now my cycle seems to start in July untill the fall. I sometimes think the humidity and barametric pressure has some kind of effect on it. I guess i concider myself lucky that they aren't what they used to be. I keep hoping they will just forget to come back at all. I have had them for 30 years with the worse being when I was 20 until to 30 yrs old, every day pretty much for at least 8 of those years. At least i am getting good time in between now!

Last year was the only cycle in 26 years that I skipped. However, it is making up for it this cycle by hanging around since April. Nice to think that the Beast if fair about this. Steve G

August of each year is not unusual - but every 4 years is peculiar. Were you were born Feb. 29th?? I am usually suffering in August like clockwork. One year it started early in July, after a period of stress and burning the midnight oil. Headaches 5 of the last 7 years. One year I was pretty much symptom free, and this year was a dry cycle - all the disturbances associated with my normal cycle, but no headaches.

Four years off sign me up for that one , No really mine are about 2years on 2 years off - on the on years, I suffer all spring, summer, and fall. along with the first frost comes my reprirve. Which is great now that I live in Chicago not TX. Heat also relives my some of my pain, but as you will see on here cold is what does it for most. Sorry you had to join our club GENA

Not unusual at all. I had them every October usually and then in March for about 4 weeks. Always at least 4 a day and a couple of times as many as 6. They are indeed like clockwork. It's a big club Dianne. Charlie

I have had mine in every month of the year, but i am episodic. I do have a tendency to get them in the Fall and the Spring, But this cycle started in June. I find that CH has no rhyme or reason. Each cycle seems to be different. Patrick

Dianne, i think that my clock is broken. Ive been episodic for 15 years and spent 8 of those in remissions. My last cycle was in April and May of this year, i got attacks at various times of the day and nite, not like clockwork, just random hits no more than 2 a day. I aborted most of them with Oxygen and a few with imitrex injections. If you havent tried Oxygen, i suggest that you try it ASAP. Here is the link to our Oxygen page http://www.maplefallswebdesign.com/misc/oxygen/oxygen.htm Welcome and good luck finding what works for you. ..................andy

I am chronic but when I was episodic, for a few years the beast was predictable but after that, he sort of went haywire...never knew when he might show up but always knew he would...smiles,nancyc PS welcome to the MB!
