I am very pleased with my doc appt this morning.... He put me on maxalt and propranolol (beta blocker)  and is also setting me up witha new neuro AND if things dont work out with the new neuro he knows a headache specialist at Dartmouth Hospital!!!!, but he wants to try a local neuro first cause dartmouth is an hour and a half away but i told him I don't mind going that far AT ALL plus a friend of mind works at dartmouth and lives right near there and I could always visit while out that way.  Their pc is down so they are going to call me later with the appt. ;D !  I am just in shock at how well it went!!!  Yippeee

Glad you had a good experience at the doc's.

I took propranolol (Inderal) also.  It worked for me.  However, I seem to recall that the Inderal LA (long acting) worked better than the generic.

  Good luck.

Very good news kid:

Inderal (Propranolol) was the drug I used too. It was all I had way back when and it worked pretty well. My cycles were far enough apart and only 20 minutes that I only took the stuff after the attack began. I didn't need more drugs at the time. Anyway, it would take a few days to work but it usually did.

Sounds like you have a real MD
