Has anyone ever monitored there blood pressure to see where it is before, during and after a cycle? A friend suggested I buy a monitor,so I did. I've been checking it several times a day. I'ts usually 80-90/45-55 and pulse is 58-77. How many people have tried checking this? There pretty cheap. I paid $30.00 for mine. Just curious, Mark

Now here's a thought..........I'm on bp medications.......but never really thought about it during an attack. BUT, if I could fit that cuff around my eye socket or head and PUMP.......whoa baby...........talk about pressure to those points.........hmmmmmmmmmm.............lol Interesting thought Mark, wish I could say I'll remember to check it during my next hit, but somehow, I really think that I won't remember to. pf wishes, EDNA

The one I got is kinda tricky to attach one handed. Not a big deal when I'm feeling ok. But you're supposed to sit completely still and calm. and wrap that thing snugly around your arm calmly. and pump it up,while remaining still and calm. Kinda hard for me to do that when I'm pacing around, pulling my hair out. I just bought this thing on fri. I hav'nt had one that bad since I got it, but, when i do feel it to some degree, the pressure rises but my pulse rate drops. seeyaa, mark

Very interesting point. I have been meaning to get a home monitor and check it out during an attack. Naturally assumed that BP would be high during an attack. BP 160/100 at rest 28yrs old. Been told that this needs attention. Concerned with readings at time of dancing with the devil.

That is very high for a resting Blood Pressure! Textbook is 120/80 I believe. When I am in midattack and it goes to 140/100 they are concerned with that. My normal Bp is 90/68 Have you ever been on meds for high BP?

Hello Mark and nice to meet you!! During an attack nobody succeeds in monitoring the pressure... I can’t stop moving!! ;D ;D If my normal pressure is 105/60 I can tell you that after an attack it is 150/100... … it is hight for me! Good Luck, Zaira ???

hi Zaira, I'm interested to find out what happens to blood pressure. when it's shadowing(kip 3-7) it sure feels vascular to me. My pressure is normanlly 85/49,pulse 66. I'm 34yrs old. When the pain kicks in and grabs my left eye a little it goes to 100/60. But my pulse drops to 55-57. Luckely I hav'nt had a real bad one since I bought the thing last fri. I'm new to this board and had'nt heard anything about blood pressure. Just wondering... Take it easy, Mark

Gday CryingInPain, quacks keep telling me that they will look at bp once a cycle has passed. Only have bp records when I have visited during a cycle. Maybe it is not a true bp, but a bp which is higher due to stress of a cycle dont know? will keep you posted.

Turts, please do keep us posted. That pressure reading should be checked whether you're in cycle or not I would think. Let us know how it goes and good luck. pf wishes, EDNA

Interestingly enough, my resting BP went from 120(ish) over 80(ish) to 160(ish) over 95(ish) when I started Topamax...when I came off that med (due to other side effects), my BP is now back to my "normal" although it took a couple of weeks to get back down there. On the two ER visits I have had, my BP was through the roof. It was like 170(something) over 100+. I cannot recall the exact numbers only that it was the highest I have ever seen measured from me.
