So bummed!

I am starting a new cycle and I am so bummed about it.  It came early this year!  Starting out slowly, but I know whats coming.  Anyway, I guess I am going to need some PF vibes, they've been hitting right at dinner time, and I haven't had dinner with my family for over 2 weeks.

I went to the doctor and she put me on Elavil as a preventative, does anyone take that, how well does it work?  I've taken preventatives before with no success, so I haven't taken any for a long time, thought I'd give it another shot and see what happens.

I'm so ticked off right now, I was not ready for this to happen yet, especially so close to Football season!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!  All vibes are welcome!!   Kiss

Sorry to hear you're starting a new cycle. I hope you'll feel better soon.

Something I tried yesterday when I had a BAD one (the O2 failed me this time) and I was crying and praying to God... I was desperate...

I took a bag of frozen peas from the freezer and wrapped it into a dishcloth. I put in on the CH side of my head and my chin but it made the pain worse as soon as I removed the ice.
Then I got the idea of putting it on my neck and the "good" side of my head. It seemed to ease my pain.
My theory is that when the ice is removed there will be extra blood flow to the cold area... leading the blood there and away from the "bad" side...
- does that sound like a plausible explanation?

Well - it worked for me - yesterday  Wink

Real sorry to hear you are in a cycle. It makes your heart sink doesn't it? I always go through a short denial period when it starts and then just cry because I know what I'm in for. I am real sorry for you. I haven't tried elivil. Have you tried oxygen? Have you gone to OUCH and read about all the recommended meds? If not, click OUCH button on left, click on Cluster Help, then on medications. Maybe there is something new there for you to try.

Be strong, this will end.
