I have found that the only thing that can trigger a CH, one that comes at the wrong time, for me is sleep and heat. I am starting to suffer from Migraines now and so far I have found the migraine triggers to be. Nitrates, bright light, CH's, Hmm, I have to try eliminating MSG next and see if that helps. Opus/Paul

Cycles came like clockwork twice a year no matter what I ate or drank. Only thing I couldn't do is drink alcohol while in cycle.

Hi Litlgriz. There has been lots of discussion here about MSG in the past, you may want to search the archives. It seems that for a few people, MSG aggravates CH. If your goal is to avoid MSG you're going to have to be diligent. MSG occurs naturally in some foods and is produced commercially by the bacterial fermentation of starchy vegetables. Read food labels. All of the following either are MSG or are composed of MSG: any protein that is hydrolyzed, autolyzed yeast, calcium caseinate, glutamate, glutamic acid, gelatin, hydrolyzed soy protein, monosodium glutamate, monopotassium glutamate, sodium caseinate, textured protein, yeast nutrient, yeast extract, and yeast food. You would also have to avoid any kind of broth or boullion since they are not required to list MSG as components. Also soy protein or whey protein may be sources of MSG. --- Steve

Sounds to me like a major allergy reaction...been there, done that...and the four hours sound right on...Have found eating chinese, gluten bread, jello, etc can set me off..as allergy rating is high for gluten, msg, soy, and geletin, along with lots of other things...as said, search link will give you more information...
