Verapamil, Prednisone side effects?

Guys and gals, I have had a low grade type headache since yesterday. It seems to hurt when i stand up or move my head. Kind of like a Fever type headache. Last night i got a CH after i went to bed. It just seemed to rise above the other headache, and after it went away. The other headache was still there. I am wondering if maybe the Meds could do this. I suspect the Verapamil. I have called my Doctor, but of course its Saturday and i am afraid i will only be able to talk to whoever is on call. I dont want to stop taking the meds because i know it is definitly in my system now, but i was hoping someone might have some experience with this thingy! Sincerely, Patrick

Do you think that when they asked George Washington for his ID, that he just whipped out a One Dollar Bill?

I just talked to the Doctor on call, HAhahaha! He said, I quote "Sounds like you are coming down with a fever, take 2 advils every 4 hours and call back on Monday" I dont think so. He also said possibly the prednisone, but to not stop taking the Meds. It sux when ya cant talk to your regular doctor, This wasnt considered a big enough emergency for him to give me my Docs personal number! I am going to do as he says and hope maybe for better things by Monday!

Verapamil gave me constipation, loss of memory and concentration-problems. Not so bad that I had to stop taking it though. Was scheduled for hospital to get the prednisone today, but as the cycle seems to be nearing the end we decided not to. Read some bad things about that steroid, like loss of kalium, headaches, moodswings, unregular pulse and loss of muscle strength. Verapamil seems to be doing fine, like many others describe the first little waves still get throuhg, but it doesn't get even close to a full blown attack. Hope and pray it keeps working... Hi Patrick. I have taken both, read about both, and talked to the doc about both. My guess is that it is probably the prednisone. The list of possible side effects for prednisone is huge. Of course, a common side effect for most medicines is 'headache'. DON'T discontinue the prednisone without the supervision of your doc. Abruptly discontinuing prednisone can be dangerous. --- Steve
