Ramon and I are from the Quad Cities also, River Rat!!! Grew up in Davenport, lived in Bettendorf before we moved up here to northern Illinois (which sucks!) When I come down to visit my parents (once a month.... ) we are gonna have to hook up...go to Happy Joes, or Rudys or maybe even Whitey's for some ice cream... my husband enjoys fishing, maybe you two can go on the river for a while so I can go to whiteys. LOL! IOWA ..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I miss Iowa tina

the "where we live button" ........ahh yes. so descriptive. really inspires my imagination............bleaugh Although the "where we live button" will tell you .......I live in Centerport, Lawng Island, NY, it might as well be bumfuck . It's stunningly gorgeous. It snakes around the North Shore of Lawng Island and is an old fishing, clamming, lobstering gem nestled off the Long Island Sound. Lots of raw bars, lotsa boats, lotsa rocky beaches and gorgeous views. Lotsa good ole down home rockers that don't hide a word ;D Or a hug**** Hit the buttons to the left and you won't find that. Mouth ;D

Central Florida. The Orlando area. Oviedo to be exact. I was born in Florida and grew up here. The summers can bring some unbearable heat, but ah, those magnificent winters. Jan/Feb can get cold for a few days (30's), but most of the winter finds the tempatures climbing up to the high 70's during the day. Did I mention this is the one place you can golf all year long? Central Florida is loaded with tourists, the orange groves are being replaced with subdivisions, and we have those pesky alligators here, but hey, this is still home. Good thread River Rat. I'm PF as well and glad to see you sticking around.

South Beach Oregon. Home of 70% of the distant waters fisherman in the US We have plenty of seafood and like to knock about in boats we used to keep a pet killer whale (Orca) in a swimming pool here. We took him back home to Iceland though. We have an excellent Ale brewery down at the harbor The weather is windy and cool and it has been rumored to rain a bit here occasionally. www.oregonlive.com/coastcam Hey Marc hows the pet rock? TTFN if you're curious do a google search about Kieko

Hey Kirk, If I recall, you're near Yaquina Bay - that's where our Coast Guard guys go for motor life boat training in BIG WAVES. I'm itching to get up there this winter to get some pictures! And our pet rock is doing quite well, thank you..... Marc

Anyone over there see a really crap film called 'Buster' with Phil Collins?? Well I live where the not very "Great Train Robbery" took place. (Buckinghamshire in England) To be even more bloody British, I live in a pub that was built by the Rothschild banking dynasty and am surrounded by cornfields. We are also in shock in England at the moment, we hit 100 this week and we're not used to it! Love to all W the B

I was born and raised in Upstate NY - Johnstown - Foothills of the Adirondacks. I have lived in: New Hampshire, Montana, Wyoming, 3 different parts of NY. Ended up in Texass. Now you tell me how the hell THAT happened? Texass is....uh....ummm...it's uhh....nice? The things a girl will do for love. Forgot to mention that we live in Montgomery Texass...which is North and a little West (I think) of Houston, by an hour or so. I think. By Conroe.

Okay: I live in Jamestown, New York where we are having the Lucy Festival. Lots of people come here to buy Lucy and Desi lunch boxes, plastic stuff with her image and other goodies. You can even buy books by Vivian Vance. I kid you not. Anyway, I'm more than 300 miles west of Kim and the big city. Nearly 500, if you take the Thruway. Jamestown is 30 miles east of Lake Erie, and 75 miles south of Buffalo so I mow my lawn in August and shovel snow all winter. Nothing has ever happened here. Charlie

??? Oh God, I feel another ramble coming on. For those who just want to cut to the chase, I live in Raytown, MO. For those who are spending the night playing solataire or moonbathing (did you SEE that moon?), read on... Well, I'm not quite sure how it happened, but I bought my first house in the upper-crust, cosmopolitan suburb of Kansas City, MO, called Raytown. Actually, Raytown is much like it sounds--unknown and invisible. The reputation it has in the metro area includes pick up trucks and chawing tabacky. But I love it. It's 30,000 people in 10 square miles, will never grow beyond those 10 square miles because it is hemmed in by Independence and KC. Everything I need is five minutes from my house. There are no lines and the people are so nice it brings tears to my eyes. I was born in Illinois and moved to Orlando in 1979. In 1998 I moved to MO to go to school. I always swore that after graduation I was going to find a job somewhere with mountains. They say if you want to make God laugh, just tell Her your plans. OK, I'm stopping now. There's more I could say, but I'm showing a wee bit of self-restraint. Must be because I got to sleep before 4AM this morning and had a PF day--my 3rd in 4 weeks. PFNAD
