A Character Test

[A friend sent this to me today. I thought it was cool enough to share with the family. ] You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus: 1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die. 2. An old friend who once saved your life. 3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about. Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car? Think before you continue reading...This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again. The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants had no trouble coming up with his answer. He simply answered: "I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams." Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."

Character Blurb Recently while hanging in the City (downtown Grenwich Village, NY)......... we were meandering up the streets of the Village.......me, Jimmy, Tommy, Donna, and.........Grandma. Out of nowhere a ruckus broke out right smak in fron of us. My first instinct was to GET THE FUCK OUTATHERE I swear my feet were ready to run the friggin mile......and then.......it occurred to me that I would be leaving granma behind...........and..........so............i pretended like my legs were not at all a-twitchen........... ;D Later, when we had reached the diner and I was convinced no one would end my life in a violent senseless street crime, we ate cheeseburgers and I confessed my cowardly instincts to gramma. She laughed her freakin ass off and lunch was delicious.

Thanks Fubar. I flunked, but I was close. I would have just parked, put my friend and the old lady in the car to wait for the bus, thenran off into the woods with my dream mate in the rain. I'll give her a ride later. I am going to use this though. I facilitate correctional Pscyh/Ed Groups twice a week. They are getting the test..

Very interesting. I chose the "The perfect partner you have been dreaming about." because if she were for me, we would find a way to strap the old lady to the car to save her life thereby returning the favor of my freind bestowed upon me, to mankind. And I get to keep the girl! Not a bad answer for a non-cocaine, lawyer office, tech weenie, eh?   TomM

Although the point of the test is to check ones character, if you were to answer honestly I believe the bulk of us would not fair well. 1. When is the last time you actually paid attention to who was waiting for a bus. 2. When is the last time you even helped an old lady cross a street, more or less gave one a ride. 3. If your friend had saved your life and you actually noticed that person standing there then several factors come into play. A. Are you still friends? B. Did this friend ever sleep with one of your mates? C. Does said friend owe you any money? D. Do you owe said friend any money? E. Is your friend hot? 4. When was the last time you saw someone you had an instant attraction to who also looked to be a perfect match and you actually approched them? Personally, if someone stopped at a bus stop and asked me if I needed a lift I would be a bit unsure of wether or not to hop in. Ather factors come into play here also. A. Is the perfect mate with thier Wife / Husband? B. Does the person have 6 kids waiting with them. C. Is your idea of a perfect mate someone who is perhaps an ax murderer or alien of some kind. D. Is it three AM and the person is standing next to the lampost at the bus stop smoking a cig and wearing a very short skirt (could apply to men also). So you see, this is not cut and dry at all. Perhaps a perfect old lady who looks friendly while saving the live of people who are about to die is the true answer we are looking for? jmin

| My wife of 17+ years! No shit. She was a college floor mate to a former high school girlfriend and with in an hour of meeting her I said to myself I was going to marry that girl. And we did on May 17, 1986. TomM who is honest and now passing Coots signature class.

I was gonna say I'd sit on the man of my dreams lap and let the old lady sit on the lap of the friend who saved my life, there-by getting all of us into 2 seats. Crowded but I think it would work. lol Linda
