CH and Stress ??

Hey all Smiley
Just thought I'd drop a note and say "HOWZIT!". (How is it ? -> customery greeting in Southern Africa). I am still in my cycle and it really seems to be dragging on fore ever. Lately I have been having some PF days and last week actually had 2 in a row. It seems though that this BEAST just wont leave me alone. I was wondering if stress could be a trigger? (yes I am VERY stressed.)

I cant seem to get a handel on the pattern of the CH this year. In previous cycles, the hits came like clockwork. I could almost set my watch by them, but this cycle the CH is very eratic and unpredictable. The only thing that seems different and outta place is the stress, and it seems that when I am most stressed, wham, outta the blue I'm getting hit at the wierdest time of the day.

Hi Badfly, not sure if stress is a trigger or not for Wes, but personally I think he seems to get hit more if he's relaxing....

Sorry your getting hit at all!! PF vibes and I hope this cycle ends soon for you...

Hello Badfly, I am sorry to hear of your pain.
I used to have clockwork Ch's also till i started taking abortive meds,Now my Ch's show up anytime. Some people call them rebounds. Usually after i get through the Apex of my cycle i wean myself from the abortives because the Ch's aren't quite so vicious.
Wishing you and everybody PF days,

Patrick

Howzit yourself badfly

I am in Cape Town. I don't think stress has anything to do with CH. Just that stress seems greater when you are in cycle.

I tried a detox last year during my cycle (in desperation!) and it broke my cycle in a few days. I bought some BePure from Clicks and followed the instructions to the letter. I have recommended this to several other South Africans with CH and Migraine and it also worked for them. Advice wise - take it or leave it.

IM me if you want more info from me.

I generally agree that stress has little to do with it.  I'm gonna get hit at 9:06pm no matter what, and I'm gonna get rocked in my sleep no matter what.  (Am I stressed while I'm asleep?)

But there is something else going on and BobG says it right:

Stay stressed. Never relax. Never sleep. Ever.

For instance, if I get extremely stressed on the highway, (I drive 294 north in Chicago twice a day in heavy traffic.) and find 'retards cutting me off', etc. and lose my temper, I WILL have an attack.

Also, in cycle, IF I relax on the weekend, I will have the worst attacks of all.

I've noticed that alot of my pain comes on after i've just gotten angry or upset.  So i would think that some of the CH's are related to stress...however, I was just diagnosed with CH's a little over a month ago and have just recently started doing more research on them.  I'm just speaking from personal expierience. The stress I have to deal with as a part of daily living can peak and diminish but have not correlated to any of my attacks. The stress I bring upon myself and hold inside have had a correlation.
