Dave has figured out the TN heat and humidity is a BIG trigger for him. He's fine as long as he's in the A/C if he stays out in the heat too long he'll get hit HARD. Does anyone eles notice this??

Humidity is a trigger for me, but not heat...Here in Cali we don't have heat & humidity at the same time.  But everytime it rains my head gets worse.   Sad

Heat and humidity do seem to.  I also noticed Saturday that some narcotics can also be a trigger.  I took an Oxycontin and got an attack that night as well as seized.

Heat and humidity are a definitely a trigger for me.  This year has been really easy as far as cycles go, but normally the heat and humidity of July and Aug make life hell.

I'm winding down on the current cycle right now.  I had gone 4 days with no HA, just a few shadows.  Yesterday, I was doing some yard work in the good ole Florida sun and I was sweating up a storm.  I went inside to cool off and lo and behold, the beast came on to remind me he hadn't left just yet.

After a couple hours, I decided to go back out and finish the yard.  I was a little nervous, but I read on one thread where some people get relief from exccerise and one person mentioned going from Hot to Cold as a trigger.  I went ahead on out and continued weed eating, mowing, etc. and the more I did, the better I felt.  Once I was complete, I didn't go back inside.  I stayed on the back porch and slowly cooled off.  No HA. (I even had a beer and a couple of smokes while on the porch and still no HA.)

This may have been a fluke event, but I will definitely take a cool down period outside before heading back into the A/C after working up a sweat.

Many times I've noticed that when I go outside I experience an immeadiate increase in pressure to the right side of my head.  It rarely developes into any thing but that.  It usually evens out after a short while.

I am able to do outdoor yard work and have not noticed the heat and humidity prompting an attack. I live in the land of heat and humidity.

Heat is definitely a No-No for me. I haven't noticed humidity being a factor, though. I normally have a couple of cycles a year (spring and fall) and when in cycle I cannot stand being in a car with the heater on - especially the defroster blowing hot air in my face. I gotta have my window down or I'll definitely get hit.

Because this year has been a wierd one with my cycle not really ending, I've noticed that the summer heat has affected my HA's. Being hot definitely sucks.

Take care

Heat of any kind kills me.  Humidity and barometric changes in the weather kill me also.  I can't go outside at all for any length of time or I will just die in pain.

Mine almost always hit in October and early Spring. Once or twice in mid summer but for me, it wasn't a trigger.

Really hate the heat though and long for snow. Shocked

Interesting....perhaps it IS sudden temp changes...

Ok...how many find heat and humidity a trigger...THAT DO NOT LIVE OR WORK IN AIRCONDITIONING.  In other words... anybody out there that is in the heat and humidity ALL the time and gets hit when it gets hotter or more humid?

Heat and humidity have nothing to do with my triggers. Being from Florida and its hot and humid here always and i work outdoors 12 months a year. My cycles usually start when the heat and humidity are the lowest. (spring and fall)    Just my .02   ............andy

Well Leesa.
My car has been at the mechanics for a few days. A friend loaned me  a pick up truck with NO AC.
My head had been calming down over the last week and had no HA's for 5 days.
Yesterday it was 94 here in Nashville with lots of humidity. I was driving around at about 2 doing some errands that I had to do.
I was boiling. I walked into a shop and thier ac was blasting...BAM I got hit and had to run to thier loo and Jab myself.
So my answer in a resounding YES it bothers me bad.
I hope Dave gets a break
What did the doctors say about his reaction to the jabs?????

Humidity can be a trigger at times for me.  Drastic rapid temperature  and barametric pressure changes are the ones that invite the SOB to party hardy with me.

Dave has told me that he's not the only one that gets "loopey" from a 1/3 of an injection or passes out from a whole injection. He's not worried about it   Roll Eyes and of course he does'nt want me to say anything to the neuro when we go on the 23 of this month, HEHEHEEE I'm going to anyway!!  Tongue  Sorry Dave but....... this is too important for the doc not to know!  We had to change the orginal app. cuz the car was down but "watch out Nashville, here we come on Monday 23 July"!!   Wink  Jayne, if all goes right maybe we can hook up for lunch or something let me know poppet.  Cheesy
Thanks for all the feed back on this yall. Going to let this Neuro see some stuff from here so he FULLY understands this is NO B.S that it is REAL!!! Ill let yall know what's going on when we get back!! Thanks again!

Hrmmmmmm

Here's one I haven't really thought much about.  I live in New Mexico and it's what, like 183 degrees outside?  I am chronic and I cannot say that I get hit any harder or more frequently in the summer vs the winter.  I did, however, just start a log though.  It is amazing what you really find out when you start documenting things.  In this log I am documenting EVERYTHING I can possibly think to be relevant so we shall see...

YES! It was so regular for me that I took an Ergomar before cutting the grass because it either prevented an attack or at least reduced the severity.

As part of my aging out of CH, this effect of heat has disappeared for the last three years--so maybe some advantage of age!

I posted a brief medical journal report on this effect of heat here--likely a couple of years ago--the first and only such report I've seen.

Yes. I work in an A/C office building all day. When in cycle, I can walk out at the end of the day and get hit almost before I get the to the car. I think it's the sudden temp change.

Not just head and humidity.  Exertion in the heat and humidity will bring on one though.
