Help - Suggestions to get through a wedding

Warren and I leave early this Friday with our sons to drive 500 miles to Vancouver for our eldest son's wedding on Sunday  - that is why we are missing this year's convention.  Anyway, Warren is mid-cycle and getting hit quite hard right now.  I am so worried about making it through the weekend, let alone the actual wedding ceremony.  We are packing oxygen with us, and will have it in the vehicle in the parking lot.  I also have some Zomig - which he takes very infrequently - usually to be able to sleep after nightshift.  We have a couple of DHE injections left, so am going to see about getting some DHE nasal spray (if it is available in Canada).  Anyone have any tricks that might help us??  Warren can't take Imitrex either.  Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you've got it covered short of prayer and luck. The only thing left would be dont drink alcohol if its a trigger. Its good to plan ahead with CH but dont let it control your fun. You've done what you can now just go and let loose.

If Warren gets hit just scoot out to the car and suck O2.

If possible I'd have the family ...or least you guys I mean.....sit towards the back of the church or wherever it is so he can sneak out easily 'n quietly if needed and not have anyone much notice. We used to have to do that with alot of events when Brad was in cycle.....he could slip out unoticed or no one 'stare at him' if he tried to sit and battle thru as long as he could. If anyone asks just say it is for medical purposes you prefer to sit in back...cuz I know alot of em have families placed where they want them. Good luck and 'try and enjoy it and have sum fun'.....hopein yer hubby stays PF for the entire event !! Pam that is a PF event wisher

Tell Warren to pop a Zomig as he enters the church, that ought to insure a PF church thingy.

Good luck sweetie (not you Bonnie, im talkin to Warren....LOL) ;D

Thanks guys - Warren is off to see our family doctor this afternoon.  We have a prescription for Zomig already, so will just get more DHE and also a new supply of Oxygen.  Will get him to take a Zomig just before the wedding starts, and make sure the car with the oxygen is close by.  Have a great time in New York - sorry you can't make it Don - that is so crappy for you.  Jonny - you take good care of Elaine too - like always.
hugs and kisses....

Hey sweetie,

To help John get through his last few nights when he was in cycle, he started taking Gravol and it at least let him get some good nights sleep.

Hope everything goes well for you all.

As long as it's not a Catholic Orthodox or Episcopalian wedding (which are known to be very, very...very long!), I agree with Jonny, do the Zomig before the wedding.

Help him to go into it with the "no problem" outlook and everything will be okey dokey.

Congratulations to you all!

As over 50% of all first time marriages end in divorce, it is silly to drive 500 miles with family in tow to attend a wedding that may not work out anyway. Considering the cost for gas, meals, hotels/motels, wedding gifts, special clothing for weddings, paying for your part of the wedding, reception dinner, and such... might top $1000... that money would be better spent on eight Imitrex statdose packs.

Bonnie, I hope the wedding goes off without  a GLITCH!

To all of the above add: do you have airco in your car? Have Warren sit where the blast hits him between the eyes (if cold is good for him that is).

Never mind the other passengers - let them wear scarves lol.

You might also want to arrange for some cold packs to be chilled just before the ceremony and slip them under his shirt (like shoulder pads).

But hope it works out without probs.
