Should I worry?
« on: Jul 11th, 2003, 3:04pm »

I noticed at work yesterday my legs felt "wierd" from the knee down...my skin felt tight and my leg felt 'bruised" I also noticed my ankles were swollen.
I have never noticed it before and am wondering if it is because of my recently raised dose to 720mg of verap.
Any one else had this happen to them? Is this dangerous??
Last night I stayed on the couch with my legs elavated, and they looked fine this morning. But I am at work again and they are looking puffy again.
Thanks for any input.
Love JAyne

hi jayne. please call your md. verapamil (in very few people) can cause cardiac problems. edema(swelling in your legs) is a possible sign of a problem. Also. with your leg extended, flex your foot upwards (like your trying to point to your head with your toes) does that cause and pain or tenderness in your calfves? please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. chances are your fine. but it doesnt hurt to call your md. krista

Jayne,

I do believe that verapamil can cause water retention, in my honest opinion I would seek advice from a GP. It doesn't hurt to be on the safe side.

Well it went from bad to worse last night ;D

My boyfriend was really sweet and wrapped my ankles and calves in support bandages and put me on the sofa with my legs under a couple of pillows...dead sexy eh?

Well there I am, constipated with my legs looking like the wicked witch of the east...then I yawned.....and I got serious lock jaw, and I couldn't close my mouth...I started to laugh and tears were running down my cheeks. My boyfriend was staring at me asking me what was wrong...."I cank cose I mouf"
It was the source of lot's of hilarity last night.
