So how come I only come here when I'm down?

Ok, I'm down in the dumps so where to do I come? To the message board of course! Where else. I NEED SOME SYMPATHETHIC SHOULDER!!!!
I fell night before last (nothing to do with CH - just a dunce who couldn't see that the ice-maker had screwed up and spat out ice all over a tile floor - I'm a clutz ok!). Anyhow - I threw my shoulder out of whack and have a bad sprain. Painful as hell. But being the brave trooper I am..... and used to pain... I went on my merry way and just cringed a lot the next day.
But by yesterday, it was getting up around an 8 on the KIP scale so I decided to go to the clinic and get an x-ray. As luck would have it - my reg doc retired and I haven't found a new doc yet, so I had to take what was there - a new unbroken in one. I really think I scared him cause he immediately decided it was dislocated and he wasn't capable of helping me and sent me to the ER. Not my favorite place!
So I go to the ER and find out it's NOT dislocated and we could have taken X-rays and found that out at the clinic, but I'm already at ER so we do the X-rays there and the nice ER doc tells me I have a bad sprain and it's going to be painful as hell for about a week or so and that I shouldn't be doing anything except laying around eating bon bons. Yeah right!!!!! (I have an ex-hubby with alheizmers -or however you spell it- that I have to take care of like a baby and a business to run and a few other "little things" to do, but I'm to take it easy for a week or so - yeah!) so the nice doc gives me pain pills (which I NEVER take).
Today I wake up and Today I'm Taking the damn pain pills - that's how bad this "sprain" is hurting. Damn! No bon bons, but ex-hubby is trying his best to wait on ME for a change and I'm not doing a darn thing, but taking pain pills and crying with my shoulder. This thing hurts. The only good thing about this day is I dont' have a CH hitting right now. Guess that's something to be grateful for at least.
So thank you children for listening to Mom rant. I can't yell at ex-hubby (that's a no-no with altzheimers patients) and I just needed to yell. I knew ya'll would understand that part.

Aww Barb......sorry about the sprain. Those things hurt worse than breaks. We never know how little we can do without moving the shoulder. The first trick is not to annoy it until its ALL better. Easier said than done...but if you wear a sling, it might remind you not to use it.
Have you read about the get together in Fla. in Oct? We all are hoping you can make it. What say?

Sometimes you just have to succomb to the better-living-through-chemistry to get by. Sorry to hear about your pains, but vent away. We're listening.
BTW, I am just recently ex-d from my wife of 15 years. I suspect she'll be in the needs-help category sooner or later (bipolar, alcoholic pill-popper), but I can't imagine being the one to care for her. That's an amazingly big-hearted thing to do. Wow.

Hey, SIS...just got online and saw your post...so sorry things are not going good for you and Bill..you are both in my thoughts and prayers...i am now working with 32 Alzheimers men that are Veterans ..they are wonderful folks to work with...i love them ...alot easier than my drug and alcohol patients LOL..I hope you get to make it to Florida in October, I need someone to keep me awake at nite by cutting the lights on and reading all nite LMAO. How bout giving me a call sometimes? love you much , sis...smiles, nancyc ps take a pain pill, give Bill a bon bon and go to bed now.

Hey Lady - great to see you! So sorry to hear you're on a bumpy ride right now. I have to agree with Fubar - what a big hearted thing you're doing for your ex, Barb. But that doesn't surprise me at all about you. That's why you live in Texas, right? It's the only place big enough to house your heart.

BarbaraD - sure hope you are feeling better. I've never been thru a shoulder sprain - but I also hear that it's extremely painful.

I also worked for a shoulder specialist for two years, so I know what pain you're in!!!!!
Too, I just cant not mention (though I'm sure others have noticed before) the amazing tasks you have. It seems that folks who suffer this demon-possession are always so, well, full of responsibility. very capable and giving people. people who are caring and generous, and so undeserving of this torture. you especially barb. though I think this is the first time I've read your words, I hope that I may be able to read your words whenever you are down!!! and to marvel at all that you do with headaches to boot. you are amazing to go through these things and still keep your humor. I admire you.
I hope you feel better
and watch out for too many bon-bons theyre more addictive than those damn pain meds will ever be!!
