If you are working on a notebook, the row of buttons on the left does not appear.
If that is your case, click this:

I'll bet alot of new people do get confused with the 'click to the left' cuz I have no row buttons that show up on the left either but I know how to get there. Pam that kinda knows her way around

To get rid of the row of buttons, you can go to the top of the page of any message where it has the cascading folders giving you your path. Right click on the "ClusterHeadaches.com Message Board" and select open in new window. That will give you just the message board.
You can bookmark it for quicker access.
ahh.. the wonders of frames-style pages
