I wonder if it would be worthwhile to join. I also wonder if they check credentials. Example:
Me: Yes, this is Dr. Johnson and I would like to join.
AHS: You aren't a doctor, you're in big trouble

American Headache Society AHS)
 
The American Headache Society (AHS) is a professional membership society of health care providers dedicated to the study and treatment of headache and face pain. The Society's objectives are to promote the exchange of information and ideas concerning the causes and treatments of headache and related painful disorders. Educating physicians, health professionals and the public and encouraging scientific research are the primary functions of AHS.  
AHS has three types of membership: Active, Associate and Trainee.  
 
Active membership ($99 for the first year; $150 ($170 outside the USA) for renewals) is restricted to professionals holding one of the following degrees: MD, DO (or its equivalent as defined by the American Medical Association), a degree in Dental Medicine (DMD or DDS), a doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) or a PhD in a health-related field, such as biochemistry, pharmacology or psychology.  
 
Associate membership ($60 per year) is for registered nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists and occupational therapists.  
 
Trainee membership ($50 per year) is for health professionals currently obtaining full-time post-graduate training in the fields of medicine (primary care or specialty care), psychology, dentistry or other relevant disciplines.  
As part of your AHS membership, you will receive:  
A subscription to the journal Headache  
An AHS Membership Directory, containing the names and contact information of over 2,000 AHS members  
Patient education materials from our patient organization, the American Council for Headache Education (ACHE)  
The opportunity to influence the direction of AHS and the field of headache through participation on AHS Committees  
Enjoy reduced registration fees for the AHS Annual Scientific Meeting and the Fall and Winter Educational Symposia  
Unrestricted access to the AHS website(www.ahsnet.org)  
Interaction with the nation's leading headache authorities  
A scientific forum for:  
Publications  
Presentations  
The opportunity to participate with your patients in the activities of ACHE

Dr Todd Rozen is the chair of cluster committee at the AHS.  The cluster committee is part of the special interests section and OUCH is currently in discussions about how we can best be represented with them Smiley
