Shrooms are a very controversial subject. Some people think they are a godsend, others condemn their use. Where does everyone stand on this topic? 1. Have used them successfully, and advocate using them for treatment of CH 100% 2. Have not used them but advocate using them for treatment of CH 100% 3. Have no feelings one way or the other 4. Have not used them, and do not advocate using them. 5. Have used them unsuccessfully, and do not advocate using them. I say number 2. I am seriously considering employing them when my next cycle hits. PFDANs -Curtis

<2> for me too. grant P.S. better qualify this one. I have tried them when I thought I had a cycle coming on. Either it was a 'false alarm' or they worked.

Mopar's results were the same as Bob P's sadly, but we both advocate their use and Mopar will try them again as soon as he is med-free. firebrix and Mopar

Can I ask a couple of questions without stopping any further responses to this....? Please? 1. How can anyone answer with a number 3, that has clusters or has seen what clusters do to a person/family, know that there is *something* out there that shows promise....and have no opinion on it? I don't care if you like it or hate the idea, but...no opinion? Does that mean that you've given up on everything and just don't give a damn? ??? 2. What the hell are all you number 2's waiting for? The start of the next cycle? Will you start trying to grow them or purchase them after the cycle starts? If you've done the research, you know that the most success for this treatment is when used as a PREVENTATIVE. It seems at least at this point, that it's better to never let the cycle start than to try to break a cycle. Do you just want the cycle to start so you can tell it goodbye for the last time? If you start to grow your own after the cycle starts, you'll be 5 weeks into the cycle and will then have to go cold turkey off any meds you've been using to last 5 weeks! The biggest problem with this treatment seems to be detoxing during the height of a cycle and failures (as it appears) due to not being completely clear of meds that interfere. Do you have a supply ready and waiting for the first signs of the cycle starting? Is it that you don't want to stop your current med regimen to try them in fear that it will trigger the cycle or make things worse? Is it that you advocate its use but just not for you? I understand many people have different reasons for not trying it, legal and otherwise, but if you think its good enough to advocate for others......you want the people you care about to get better..but not yourself? Have you asked the people that care about you...if you should try it? If you're waiting for it to be legal and in pill form.....it's going to be a while. Please consider giving yourself the same chance of living cluster free (or closer to it), to yourself, as you do for your friends. All I can say is that if you are currently in a remission period and you are planning on trying this, and am willing to advocate it for other's, please consider trying them "before" your cycle begins and maybe, just maybe, you may never have a visit from the beast again. No offense meant to anyone, no matter what *number* you are. Whatever your reasons, they are all valid...it's your body, your decision etc. Just want to make the point about "being ready" ahead of time, if possible, if you plan on trying it. PF

Pink... Last cycle... I did a lot of research, and study into the shrooms treatment, and even had a couple of doses available for use, but there was some strong reasons why I chose not to, and still choose not to. The biggest reason above all others is that my wife specifically asked me not to, and I respect her wishes. Case closed. If it helps others, more power to them, and I hope for many other success stories. Unfortunately, I will not be trying it myself. PFDAN................................. Drk^Angel

Bob, FYI, I take lithium and verapamil daily, no detox going on here, 10 weeks of small doses I.E. 1 small shroom. Some discomfort but only lasts 1-2 hours. It is working folks, that is all I know. Plan to taper off the lithium next week. We will see if it holds up. Chronic for 19 years, Lee.

Curtis, Great post. This is something I ahve beenthinking about for quite a while since finding this board. I think I am a 2. Pink Floyd, great response. With a couple of the others the only reasons I have not at this time done it are, 1) is it morally right to break the law? 2) my wife has very strong reservations about it, although if I decide to use it she will support my decision, 3) my daughter is with the local police department and I question whether I have the right to compromise her position on either a moral or legal ground. Can she participate in arresting someone else for using controlled subsances illegally if I do it? I definately support any one elses decision to use them if they have done the homework and Know what theyare doing. jc
